Thank you Big Steve. I think if you've made yourself into a thread that help the fabric of Swedish society to function, then you deserve to vote, immigrant or not. And for you to be able to even utter "SD" without either turning bright red in anger, or deep blue from suffocation, and even be able to talk about them in a nuanced manner, I hereby grant you a fourth piece of paper to use in the next election. I don't like SD myself, but we have to see and understand why people are voting for them, instead of freezing them out from discussions if we want to continue calling ourselves a democracy.

2:10 Saami SD voter here, Swedish culture is both Saami and Germanic culture, theyre simply sub groups of our country, aka Swedish Culture, just as people from Dalarna and Stockholm has different culture. And If its in their culture to bring in immigrants, they will bring in. But thats in neither of their culture, if it was, there would be no need for state enforced immigration where everyone is forced to pay for for it.

Following the election and seeing how anti immigrant the tone was, it must be so surreal to hear a party talking about getting rid of immigrants and people not being Swedish enough while being an immigrant. I think the ability to have trust in your government is a big and important part of a well functioning democratic society. Distrust of government when we have very little corruption in Sweden means needlessly restricting yourself.

Hannes Wadman Much of the popular trust is assumed but not earned. I think it should be the other way. Why even have an election in Sweden? Why are the voting rules so slanted towards the status quo?

I would actually argue the other way around, that people are needlessly skeptical to the parties today and the image that election promises never get fulfilled is not true at all. I think we need enough skepticism to not let parties change things like constitutions however and we need to protect democratic values but people are quick to vote for opposition just because parties made mistakes that everyone would. "Why even have an election in Sweden?" What? Hello?

The British voting system is complete rubbish, the 2015 election was extremely unrepresentative. First past the post is crap. The Swedish system is far better, although the ballot handling is a bit weird (Norway and Denmark does it better), and the vote counting system could be improved greatly by implementing STV which would decrease the need for tactical voting.

The sad thing about all this is that just because the sweden democrats had a few extreme things on their list back in the 90's that is still somehow relevant today in 2018, and noone seems to care about what the socialdemokrats did in the 30's and what the center party did in the 50's, sweden is in chaos and people refuse to see this wich is sad, our country is slowly falling apart, uk, france and germany is bad enough and i'm not blaming every immigrant for what is happening but it is a big contribution to the unrest that is happening and i'm sure you have seen this aswell with your travels

The Samis however, they came from the east some 1000-1500 years ago when this country had been inhabitated for more than 12000 years. Are you suggesting the Samis inhabitated a glacier, or will you admit that you didnt know anything about our history before you went public? Problem is a voting license based on knowledge would benefit people higher up in the system so to speak. People who can better provide their children, friends and themselves with knowledge and other things will be the only one to vote and people of a different class or social group will not. This means that since less people are gonna go through the trouble of voting this creates a divide between the general population and the voters.

But then who decides who can vote? Who has "the right knowledge" to vote? How do you know who can vote? What you're suggesting, is ridiculous. EVERYONE who has the opportunity to vote, should vote. Sweden is suppose to be a Swedish country of course but immigration is critical to helping the country. But in some very rare cases immigration can be an issue usually refugees who aren't treated right or people European or not if they dont assimilate they are treated as outcast and outcasts in society dont usually act as loyal citizens no matter where you are in the world. Famous quote if you treat us like animals we will behave like animals. But in alot of cases people are behaving horribly an expecting alot more. So on that note alone im pro-Swedish Democrats.
