I remember hearing this song for the first time. I cried for hours. In high school I remember coming home after a shift at Burger King and finding my brother hanging from the tree in our backyard. I remember cutting him down and holding his cold purple body in such a state of shock I held his head to my chest and prayed for god to take me instead. No one seen it coming. But we were living in a toxic household with drug addicted parents. It led me to a 12 year opiate addiction as well and I didn’t want to live anymore. I’m 30 years old and 5 years sober I still struggle with survivors guilt. And it’s really hard to not relapse sometimes. He wasn’t just my brother he was my best friend and I wish I could’ve saved you brother I love and miss you!

I know this is five months old and all, but I know how loss feels all too well. In more ways than one. I had a lot of family custody problems when I was younger [ I'm turning 17 in January now ], and could only see my mom and older brother in visits once every few months. One day when I was around five, I noticed we weren't getting ready for a visit, and that's when I learned my mom died. I was at an age where I don't really remember much about her now, but still can't really talk about her without getting emotional. Alongside that, I haven't been able to see my brother in well over 8 years now, and have no idea where he is now. So my condolences, really. Loss really is a tough thing. Congrats on being sober, though! I know nothing about your life, but there's so many good things in life. And bad as well, but if there weren't, to be honest, the good things wouldn't really have the weight they otherwise hold.

I grew up about 2 or 3 hours from where this guy grew up so I relate to everything he sings about. I lost my best friend of 21 years ago about 4 years ago, so this song hit home even more. As a 34 year old man, this made me cry like a newborn. I'll never be able to listen to it in public lol.

The bit at the end when the thunder rolls as they're carrying the casket is a nice touch. The chorus keeps telling him to "make some thunder, make 'em wonder how you got in", and it sounds like he's doing exactly that.

9:21pm central time-my youngest song was in an accident in Fl, died from injuries. Hugh fan of Hardy, we played his dong “Give Heaven Some Hell “ at visitation, may not have been appropriate, but he loved the song. We meant he was going g out with his favorite songs. Just wanted Harry to know he made a 25 year old young man happy ( 3 days shy of his birthday-April 19th. ) on his last day. We live in Ga -on East Coast. I’m his mom and have a hard time every day with him gone. With love Frankie(Paul Ferra Jr).

Hardy is such a breath of fresh air! He is so very gifted in all he does, especially story telling. This song slaps the tarnation outta me emotionally and almost always makes me cry. My beautiful little brother took his own life June 15, 2017, 6 days before my 40th birthday. It has been 6 years and it feels like it happened yesterday. I can still remember that horrible phone call, falling to my knees screaming no no, my children being woken by my horrific wails and running to my side begging to know what was wrong. The only thing I could spit out before vomiting was, he's dead he's dead...he was their favorite Uncle, the fun Uncle, the Uncle who put them on his lap at 7 years old so they could drive too, the Uncle who let them stay up until 4am watching movies and eating junk food, the Uncle who took them to grave yards at midnight to have scary adventures, the Uncle who went trick or treating on Halloween with us and they'd be so excited to see what crazy costume he would come dressed in because he was as big a kid at heart as they were, the Uncle who snatched up my youngest daughter and ran to the bathroom and locked the door to let her shave her legs for the first time because I deemed her too young and wouldn't allow her to, the same Uncle who would run through Walmart eating candy that wasn't paid for yet and stealing 9ft tall inflated wine bottles from a display and walking right out the door with it, the Uncle who could make cool noises and doing a really strange wavy thing with his stomach, the Uncle everyone called Odie. I didn't agree with his shenanigans at the time, I thought it would teach my children bad habits...but I'm so thankful now they had those moments and big belly laughs. He brought them so much joy and they loved him deeply. He drove crazy and would get his car up on 2 wheels a lot of the time lol. This song oh this song...I know he hit those gold streets on 2 wheels! I was there when he raised his hands to the sky and asked for forgiveness. That was on a Sunday, and he was gone on Thursday. Life has done nothing but slap me all around since the day he left, it took my knees out from under me. I suffered horrific abuse as a child and if it wasn't for him, I would not have survived it. He was the only man to not hurt me, to not disappoint me, to never leave...and then he made the choice to leave. I have peace in knowing he's dancing and cracking jokes with Jesus and he is no longer hurting...but man, how we miss him. Sorry that went deep 😢...check out everything from Hardy, you won't be disappointed. He brings metal into country as well and I absolutely love it!

So I don't know a lot about music, so bear with me. But, I think for any artist who has ever sang or written songs, there are 3 main goals they try and achieve: 1) evoking an emotion or response whatever that may be, 2) create a tune that is catchy and makes the audience recognize, bring familiarity, or remember the notes and cords, 3) creates lyrics that simultaneously resonate with individuals on a deeply personal level while appealing to a broad audience that may have those experiences. Doing any one of these is hard, but an artist or songwriter that can do all 3, consistently, is very special. Hardy is one of those artists.

Sion "inside the hollow" for me there is a line that goes " I lost it all and I lost it all again" for reference, I lost my mom jan 10, 2019 to cancer, on jan 10, 2022 my dad was diagnosed with cancer and died on jan 29, 2022. I was there to witness both of my parents hearts stop. To say the least, I'm a mess. because " I lost it all, then lost it all ...again"

I will fly to Oslo in February and spend one day in Norway. one in Sweden, and one in Denmark. Then on to Germany to see my relatives and my landlords from 40 years ago when I was in the army in Germany. I am pretty good with languages, so I decided to learn some Swedish, knowing that people in all 3 Scandinavian countries might understand and appreciated me if I tried to speak Swedish and not English. The KZbin videos that help me learn Swedish made my perception of Swedes much different from the one I have had for many years. I have long perceived that the Swedes were a mostly out-of-touch people, electing year after year crazy governments. The fact that Sweden let in so many immigrants recently is just an example of this. If you have only 10 million people in your nation and you let in 1 million immigrant men, who will want eventually to bring over 2 million wives and children, you may not have a country or culture in Sweden in 20 years, especially given birthrate differentials. After watching your two "Hardy" reaction videos and other "Swedish" things in the language videos; and also thinking about how large Sweden is geographically given the small population, it made me think that perhaps Swedes outside of the large cities are not so unlike the people in the middle of America, who care mostly for their family, their community, freedom, with maybe a little religion and fishing thrown in. This has been a long-winded comment, but I was wondering, Linn, if you live away from the main cities in Sweden. Maybe you, too, are like people in the middle of America ("flyover country"). I ask this because of your reaction to the Give Heaven Hell video, your understanding of the Just Wait n the Truck video (a kind of protest against the lack of justice you sometimes find in the US - women not being protected by the law, etc.), your lack of indignation about the idea that good men sometimes need to step in when the government doesn't provide that justice, and maybe your seeming understand that in many places in the US, we are still a bit religious and think about things like justice in a cosmic sense, heaven and hell, and that a church can form a real part of some communities. Maybe the simple question(s) is: where do you live in Sweden and/or do you think lots of people in your country share the kinds of values that I have described here?
