Me and my brother found this Video looking for info on Midsummer celebrations in Sweden. Apart from the fact that the Midsummerpole is referenced as a May pole, this video is f****ing brilliant! It captures the Swedish Midsummer! Please notice the organizational aspects of the Video. Easily set aside, this a vital ingredient in the celebrations. Thanks for this video!!!!

R K no shit, lol the Americans who made the movie made it into being a horror movie with cults to make it interesting and scary, you didn’t really think we have human sacrifice and crazy cults did you?
@rohankalita74604 жыл бұрын
@@saadenorran of course I did coz many other traditional practices also have such stuff but I had never seen human sacrifice though like the one in the film
@saadenorran4 жыл бұрын
R K then I’m sorry but you should really get more knowledge, don’t you think if it was like that for real, people would’ve spoken about it at the news? You should be more aware of what could be true and not lol
@rohankalita74604 жыл бұрын
@@saadenorran hmm you are right but afterall it's a movie so creative freedom is always encouraged at least I got to know about the festival
@saadenorran4 жыл бұрын
R K absolutely and I’m not saying that the movie is bad or anything, I’m just saying that you shouldn’t believe everything in a movie, I feel like you were convinced that the movie was the truth in the way you wrote your comment. But maybe I misunderstood you, anyways hope you understand the festival a bit better now, greetings from Sweden!

Just a question, I plan to travel to sweden for sure before I die. What are the odds I get to participate in these events? Looks awesome. Can I ask a random family to do this with? Would they be ok with some tourist dancing with them around the maypole?
@burre017 жыл бұрын
this is usually a family type invitational only event, but there are some that are open to the public, these can usually be found in and around larger communities or towns... but i would highly recommend the first option if possible.
@BenFox017 жыл бұрын
Yeah man U must get to know a Sweedish person then befriend there family ;) U can do it!!
@tastychiken7 жыл бұрын
If you befriend a bunch of swedes you're pretty likely to get invited to their midsummers celebrations. A lot of my friends actually throw midsummer parties with just friends, not their families. Even if it's a more traditional celebration with their families I bet you'd be invited if you ask about midsummers eve. Just make sure to prepare your liver.

English has the word stång (stang) as well, just like Swedish has pole (påle), so _midsommarstång_ or _majstång_ (maypole) shouldn't be that strange.

I'll give you a spoiler: just as many of the worshipers of the Christ of the cross were burned to death, so also those who worship the archenemy of God can be sacrificed by worshiping his tragic symbol in their pagan rituals: the pyramid and the all-seeing eye, but he saves no one because his followers will burn forever in Hell.

Wearing your cap like that is considered a sign of immaturity by most Swedes FIY :)
@palel7 жыл бұрын
no it's not. you and you're friends are not "most Swedes", grow up.
@politicallyabstract65597 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, in fact. Though I guess it depends on ones social life. Also, check the Swede at 2:26. Fool proof. "you and you're friends are not most Swedes" - Can't argue with that. Would be rather weird if it were so. So, if ones opinions differ from yours, it's a sign of immaturity? You do realize I can use your reply, to reply to yours, right? :) Hugs and kisses

Why would Muslims celebrate a norse pagan tradition? It's like asking where the Christians are on a video from some Muslim celebration.
