Best video you've done so far! Lots of different camera views and action taking place. Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and just you talking about things on your mind. Another great thing about you is it may be just you doing your job but the fact you're a very talented girl in a mostly male dominated profession and you're great at it. Another thing is people are intrigued by the differences and similarities that your trucking has in common with the U.S. Thanks for sharing your day and your thoughts with us Cassie. Looking forward to your next video!

A little while back I had inquired if the European trucks with a manual gear box are fully synchronized and realize you get an awful lot of questions coming at you and can't answer them all !. In any event I did some searching of the popular European trucks and seems they are synchronized where as they are definitely not in the North American trucks with the typical Eaton transmissions. It would be an interesting experience for you Cassie to drive a non syncro transmission, you would appreciate your manual gear boxes in Europe all that much more I can guarantee. Like I said before, there is a reason why trucking companies here in North America have gone over to automated manual gear boxes because the shifting skills for non syncro transmissions do not come easily for some. None of this takes away the mad driving skills you have, driving a large truck on narrow roads with next to no shoulders, driving in stupid busy traffic in cities ... your crazy backing skills and the list goes on. I'm a country hick and yes do drive truck/trailer on my farm hauling grain locally but I have no desire to be driving around a city with a truck/trailer, I'll gladly leave that to someone like yourself with the skills to do what you do day and and day out !
@TruckerCassie4 жыл бұрын
Oh, you're too kind! Thank you for your lovely words! :D And yes, I would love to try driving an American truck one day! Alot of fellow swedish drivers look down on the non syncro transmissions in those trucks, but I haven't tried driving them so I wouldn't know xD But I really like the looks on American trucks! Hoping to visit over there some day!
@charlesb42674 жыл бұрын
@@TruckerCassie Oh believe me you would run rings around some of the commercial drivers that have come into my yard those times I have had grain custom hauled , yes I've had really good drivers sometimes but I have had too many drivers that boggle the mind with how awful their backing skills are and they started out in a straight line with their "Super B" trailers in my yard and only had to back up straight and could NOT do it. As to coming over to North America and getting behind the wheel of an owner operator type truck with an 18 speed for instance, that would be a lot of fun and learning what they feel like. But the key is finding that right and good guy who is a good person and has the right truck ... hopefully with straight pipes and can hear the Jake for miles around, really get that full Peterbilt cowboy trucker experience ! LOL. It defies logic as to why Eaton for example stuck with that non syncro transmission design, they must have had their reasons ... maybe cost or maybe they felt it was the most trouble free, really don't know. But them and others with the newer mechanical/automated transmissions has made shifting easy now for so many, I think it tends to be the owner operators that have been in the business for years that stick more with the non complicated true manual transmission ( electronic transmissions can have issues and then look out $$$ to fix ) . Anyway enough blabbing from me !.

Heyyyy, thought I'll send a little 'hello' from Czech Republic. I think it goes without saying, that it's awesome to see more and more women taking on trucking. sometimes I find myself being proud of women like you, which is kinda silly.... I guess? :D I totally love that job and my truck, but right now all of us from our company are sitting at home, because we're hauling parts for Skoda plant, which is currently shut down. So I'm staying at home till the end of month, if not longer. I'm so glad that I have a job which I totally enjoy, I even miss going to work... even on mondays!! :D I've given a little thought to starting some vlogs myself. First tho I gotta figure out what gear to use for it and do some research about video editing, because it's a total unknown to me. Anyway, this comment is getting way too long. I wish you happy and safe adventures, always in the right mood to enjoy the little things which this job can bring, and if you'll by any chance hit the roads of Czech Republic, I hope I'll see you out there for a short coffee break! -lovin that tattoo btw ;)

"Meter Maid" is what they call them in the UK, the people write Parking Tickets on cars, "Meter Man"(?) if it happens to be a man. Here in Ireland (and in the UK too?) we also have Clampers, so you usually don't just get the Parking Ticket but also a big wheel clamp on your front wheel (Drivers side if they can get it on there). You have to call a phone number to get the Clamper to come back and take away the wheel clamp, and you also have to pay the Parking Ticket, or the Release Fee as they call it, at that time to make them do it. Credit Cards are accepted in most cases, in case you don't have the cash money. Here in Dublin they keep track of all clamped cars, and if you haven't payed within 24 hours they sent a Lifting Crew to the car, hoist it up on a flatbed lorry and ship it away to an impound where you can get it at a much higher cost than the Release Fee for the wheel clamp. Most impounds charge you for every 24 hour the car is in there, so it can be rather costly if you wait too long to collect it.

Sometime I want to try and go drive an artic truck or bus.... you know just to take a break from the Unix. My father my uncles are all drivers and I traveled a lot with them when I was young. However times sure has changed in those 15 years to a better. Now women like you are also taking those typical " man " jobs and I like that. Also driving a manual .. you would put a lot of people to shame :) :). My father was rejecting the automatic gearbox too much.. however if you are driving for 20+ years with no accidents whatsoever then you get the best stuff from company. At the moment he drives top of the line Scania with all the luxury stuff. Well, and he got used to it :)

Here is a question do you hire a camera crew while you're on the road and they sit in the trailer until you stop then they get their equipment out and they said everything up just so you can drive towards the camera then it got to take their stuff move the camera somewhere else then you have to drive towards the camera then they have to move their stuff and put it in the place to watch you unload the truck then when you're done unloading the truck they got to pick up all this stuff move it to another spot so they can watch you drive towards the camera what do you do all the camera work yourself like I stated in my last question cameras here cameras there cameras almost everywhere unless the cameras are already where you are going and they're all set up for you to go where you have to go all the time this seems like a lot of work just to get on KZbin I would never do that unless they paying you over three or four $5,000 a month if they are I guess I would probably do that oh well it seems like a lot of work to me I wouldn't do it for any amount of money I'm lazy cuz I'm over 60
