I am always jealous of the lucky ones that get to view the first preview, I'm not going until March 18th. I've absolutely loved ST since I was little, seen it on many stages but am so completely thrilled to be finally seeing it on Broadway.

Can I ask how you liked your seats? Looking at Row 1 Mezzanine vs. mid-Center Orchestra (Row N). Seems like the stage is quite high and Mezzanine offers a great view.

Mezz is Perfection! (1) The set design features a top platform as second story (the barbershop) which is viewed spectacularly and completely from the Mezz. (2) The tight choreography of ensemble (as townspeople) is compelling and imo best appreciated when viewed above, from the Mezz (3) Bonus: The front rail in Mezz Row A is low and does not obstruct your view at all. (4) Also, from the Mezz perch, there are beautiful views of the musicians in orchestra pit as well as of Alex Lacamoire, Conductor/Music Supervision which adds to the thrill of the live performance. It's possible *that when seated in the orchestra it may be difficult to see*: (A) the physical surface itself of the upper platform (that you'll want to see to appreciate how customers 'leave' the barbershop after 'the shave', amongst other things) and (B) the upstage (back) area of main stage or it's surface. Plus from the orchestra you'll be looking up quite a bit....Go for the Mezz! (if you're on twitter I posted a few additional pics @BrigidNYC- check under "tweets & replies" tab). Enjoy!

I randomly met someone who saw the first preview and they said it was kinda rough... They also said that apparently they had cancelled the final dress rehearsal before the first preview or something. But they also said Annaleigh was a star :) So we'll just have to wait to see where they land!

I know it was the first preview, but the curtain calls seemed unorganized and the orchestra sounded lifeless.

That can happen at first previews. A lot of times they haven't decided on the order to curtain call bows or what to play. That is one of the fun parts about going to a first preview.
