La ilaha il-lallah Wahdahu la Sharika lahu Lahu-lmulk, WaLahu-l-hamd Wahuwa 'ala kullishai'in Qadir
Wa la hawla Wala Quwata il-la-bil-lah
Wa Subhanal-lah
Wa Al hamdu lil-lah
Wa La-ilaha il-lal-lah
Wa Allahu akbar.’
his sins will be forgiven even if they were as much as the foam of the sea . )

There’s a Hadith where the prophet (saw) said: who says “Astagh-fi-rulla-hal Atheem, al-lazi la ilaha il-la Huwal-Hay-yul-Qayyum wa aa-tubu i-laih” he will be forgiven even if he fled the battle which is considered as a major sin. With that said, does this dua expiate major sins?

Good question! I make this istifghar almost daily. There's also another hadith that says if you say astaghfirullah over 70 times daily it will forgive sins even if it is as much as the foam on the sea. I wonder if that's for major sins also?

@@khairt1731 I heard Subhuna’lahi wa be Hamdihi a 100 times would remove your sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. But this would be I think minor sins. All to know and most importantly, Allah’s (swt) mercy is beyond our comprehension, we always need to stay positive insha’Allah. There’s also syed Al istighfar which is the ultimate way of asking for forgiveness. It’s a lengthy dua, but definitely worth learning by heart
