Before the church was sold to the mosque owners, a Christian congregation in Louisiana wanted to buy the pews, windows, etc.. But that would have left the building as an empty hulk with wood over the windows; or the Syracuse diocese could have torn it down.. It is better that the building be used; rather than just sitting there empty; or being turned into a parking lot. Eventually, the stained glass windows with crosses and Bible scenes could be sold to a congregation that is building a new or restoring an old church. (and new, thermo-windows installed - Syracuse is cold during the winter) That way, the now- covered windows could let in more light. That old, late 19th and early 20th century stained glass is very valuable. It is not made anymore … And it is beautiful!

You should be admiring the fact that the Church turned down a heck of a lot of money out of principle to keep a house of God as that, a place where God is worshipped. It is a pity anyways when a church has to be closed, doesn't matter then if it turns into a bar or a mosque. Neither God is honored in a strip bar nor in a mosque, so it is both a sin. I also don't agree on your point that a mosque is a place of unity and that it does good for the locals. It is actually a place for Muslims only and other people don't have anything good from it - even a bar would serve more people, for example. I think they should have done a social center or a nursing home in it. That would really help the surrounding people and not a huge mosque that accomodates around 15 people in it.

Christians are Muslims infact. Let them know what they are ? Jesus is a prophet of Allah not God. Jesus preached Islam and invited his followers to believe in Almighty Allah -- the father--. Almighty Allah is the Originator of the universe and creator of the life and Mankind. No prophet sent by Allah claimed the dignity. They assigned only to convey the message of Allah to His slaves. Jesus preached Islam and he was a Muslim. Jesus prophesied that last and final messengers will come when he will go. It is duty of every prophet to inform his followers about coming of last and final messenger -- prophet Mohammad (pbuh). Christians have to believe in prophet Mohammead(pbuh) and follow him. otherwise they are not true followers of Jesus (pbuh). If they do not believe in Islam, Jesus will not love them and they will be rejected. They will not enter in Paradise. It is in their broader intersts in this world and in Hereafter to believe in Islam. Jesus will love them otherwise not. Jesus and his mothet Mary are mentioned in Holy Qur'an in details. I love Christians because they are our brothers in Islam. Let them know this fact kept hidden from them during the history.

Prophet Mohammad ( pbuh) is prophet of peace. He preached what Almighty Allah revealed to him. He preached that there is no God except Almighty Allah and worship Him alone without making any one His partner. He very clearly told the people that he is a man like others but Allah selected him and made him His last prophet for all humanity not for the Arab only. His duty was to convey the message of Almighty Allah to His slaves ( the people). Now it is up to them to accept his messages or reject it. They are given freedom to accept Islam or reject it. But they must choose the right path of Almighty Allah otherwise they will accountable for their wrong choice. The people of Mecca not only refused to accept his messages but they teased him and made it very difficult to live in Mecca therefore he and his followers migrated to Medina. His calling for Islam was peaceful and based on peaceful dialogs. In fact he was for peace in the world. Almighty Allah bless all of us and guide us to the right path which leads to the Al-- Jannah ( the paradise).
