Sweepstakes and lottery scams extended interview

Here is an extended interview with a woman whose father was taken in by a sweepstakes scam.
New report from Better Business Bureau says people over 55 most likely targets of sweepstakes and lottery scams. A West Michigan woman shares the story of her father, and the great lengths scammers went to convince him to send them thousands of dollars.

They is still doing it. I got the same call today but I was well aware that it was a scam. When he started asking for money then I realize he was a scam so the scammer got offensive and hung the phone up so be aware they are scamming every day.

I didn’t know it but I was thinking of when I got recorded on a podcast following a video on a social media platform that I had supposedly created a video like I had won the contest and I was and still am totally mentally exhausted from thinking of it every single time I saw it

I was just called & at the end of the call. They need me to get a vanilla card and put 99.99 on it for taxes & that my money winnings would be loaded on that😊

My father when he passed had 1.08 million in bonds and stocks he was i.n military was a veteran I don't know how or what whare his bill were but he had a financial senior in Eugene or when they took it upon themselves stated I traded mine for estate now that is so untrue I am furiose

I had a TNT DELIVERY Driver tell me I have to donate money from From my PCH Winnings before they deliver that is what they said the PCH WANTS BEFORE I RECEIVE MY 2.1 MILLON Dollars.

Scams taxes and fees before could get prize different locations would not normally do I say if I won it send it shipping free if they can afford to give big gift they can afford to pay shipping taxes

If some one was good with computers the could ping them locate where the calls are coming from and then the cslls will stop get trm locsted and a video of the phoney people then thrre boxed in once there on a video ive heard 90 percrnt of theres calls s are all comeing from india

On March 24 2024 they call me on the phone said said I won a million but I had to get two gift cards with 500.00 each on them Then they would be calling back then they ask about the credit card as I wasn’t familiar with buying them but got one Amazon card Not knowing they wanted the number then they called back wanting another card Today they called again they wanted me to give them 9000.00 or my car title I hung up after losing five hundred to these scammers

I'm Sorry you're father lost all that money, to a group of scammers. I received the same information from these scammers. They left me a message saying Hello Mr.Harris, you have won $ 1MILLION dollars and $12.000 per week and a brand new Mercedes Benz. I didn't fall for it because I new that PCH does not operate like that. So I quickly dismissed it.

I've been talking to Donald Richmond who claims to be with PCH sweepstakes and told me that I have won3.8 million dollars plus 5 thousand dollars a week for the rest of my life plus a 2021gle mersedezebin with 3 years of free gas and 3 years of free insurance. @@robcarte2466 never speak to anyone who says you've won anything but first you need to pay ANY fees. Frequently they'll say all the money you send will be reimbursed. It won't be. They'll just continue to demand money. Don't send anything. You didn't win. PCH doesn't call first - check out their website. And I'm pretty sure none of their employees have Jamaican accents.
