Very underrated band , they were a hard rock band but used pop as a route to fame. Listen to the b sides of their singles and you’ll find a very different band !

@@sharpestjim So you're not surprised, I'd work backwards from there if you like that style. Level Headed (prefer US sequence CD) is the most similar & had the last big hit Love Is Like Oxygen. Prior to that their sound is much heavier (& my fave period, frankly) on the albums Off The Record, Give Us A Wink, Desolation Blvd, & Sweet FA. Before that it's the great glam and bubblegum singles that made them famous, so take your pick -- you've had a friendly warning from a lifelong fan!

Иду я, такой себе примерный пионер, вечером домой со школы и слышу издалека: старшеклассники с нашего и соседнего дворов возле газовой будки слушают на бобинном переносном магнитофоне класснейший рок! Скромно у кого-то спрашиваю, что это звучит? И мне, пацану, небрежно отвечают: подпольный концерт "Песняров" из США. Тогда от кого-то я слышал о зарубежных концертах "Песняров", и как мне было не поверить? Немного позднее мне признались, что это такая группа "Свит" и её новый альбом "Фэнни Адамс"! Да!.. Именно так я узнал об этой группе и тем самым продолжилось моё по жизни постижение хард-рока! Наперекор возражающим родителям. А годами позже, где-то в 83-м, я примерно точно так же прикололся над своим сокурсником в училище, который скептически выражался о звучащем альбоме "Fanny Adams". И он также наивно поверил и начал внимательно прислушиваться, думая, что это и вправду "Песняры". Но скептиком я тогда ни в коем случае не был, а мой сокурсник уже довольно был напичкан музыкой итальянцев. Да-а-а...

I was 15, in CA , when 'Ballroom Blitz' came out....then went to Iowa with my best friend & her mom(We tortured her the whole way trying to find it on the radio!!!). When we got to her Grandparents, we bugged her mom to take us to Cedar Rapids, so we could find a record store....then, got the guy to check if they had the album yet---& PLAY IT FOR US!!!! 😂 It felt like WITHDRAWALS!!!😅 Finally got to see them later, at The Shrine( with Journey, top billing), 1st row...GREAT CONCERT!

The sheer amount of lost material featuring these 4 guys that resurfaces is incredible. Natural born performers, and for the short time they were really together they created hit after hit... the very definition of burn brightly burn fast. We are blessed to have so many great performances by which to remember one of the greatest underappreciated bands of all time.
