ah yes, it's not only there. For my work I have to crisscross the country. Everywhere I come, since the 'mandatory medicine' all of the sudden there is an extreme shortage of employees. 'People don't want to work'.... yeah no, we were sold this bullshit poison and now there are fewer of us because many have become either handicapped beyond ever being able to work again or are dead. That's why we have a shortage of employees. But sure sure, 'safe and effective'

I've been playing games for years. I remember Pong, Ms. Pac Man and the original polygonal Lara Croft. I have no problem with strong female characters, in fact more power to them. However, I don't care what their sexuality is, or what their politics are. They just need to write a good, apolitical character. Unless it's integral to the story, I don't care. But if the designers run politics over good story, they're looking to build bad story, regardless of message.

Don't accept trash just because it wasn't sullied by unsavory hands. You can ADD prerequisites to your list, but that doesn't mean you have to remove the ones that were there. We want BETTER. Not just 'unwoke'. There are still terrible devs out there who wouldn't do business with a consulting firm.

Generally friendly, funny, some can be empty-headed, but what counts the most is that they want to have fun, be free, be themselves, and don't need people either coming into our games and turning our games into a propaganda laden lame fest while trying to slag anyone everyone down who disagrees with it and dragging the whole scene down or making crap up to get innocent people in trouble for clout. Our boycotts are working so well that companies like Ubisoft are having serious problems, and it was simple we just started boycotts at crucial times during game development, at release. we let the studios invest hundreds of millions of dollars and then boycott the final product, so they don't have the chance to repair the damage done by these consultation companies. this shows that we are much more intelligent than these consultation companies give us credit for. they had a plan, but we had a plan of our own. and they are done in this industry. R.I.P Sweet Baby.

Wonderful breakdown of the process. WDWPRO what I appreciate is when you do interject to insist your guest clarify terms or statements. 1. It helps clarify for those that do not know 2. it helps your guest establish their credibility and expertise and 3. It helps drive out bias and let's your audience make informed decisions. Top notch journalism. The statement for going back to good ol fashioned game design - I would argue that I don't want them to go back to that, but to LEARN from this and truly realize and understand the power of their consumers and proceed accordingly. Post 2020 has been crazy.

Mike Pondsmith is an absolute fecking legend. Yes Cyberpunk but the first TTRPG I ever played 30+ years ago was also from the fertile mind of Mr Pondsmith Teenagers From Outer Space. 14:19 No way. Yasuke himself as a samurai is historically inaccurate. There's no evidence for that. It's simply too late for them remove historical inaccuracies. The fact that they chose a black samurai itself is not really the problem, it's a symptom and a red flag; they then tried to pass it off as historically accurate; another huge red flag. They said they had invested a lot of time in getting the game historically and culturally correct; not even close. They did the thing lefties are always complaining about: cultural appropriation; they took their woke nonsense, dressed it up with the trappings of japanese culture and tried to claim it as the real thing. The game is just quilted out of red flags for wokeness. It doesn't matter if they pallete-swap Yasuke, which is about all they have time to do at this point. Tthe game is too steeped in wokeness and almost nobody will buy it. They will remove some bugs and release it. They can't afford not to. It won't make its money back, but they've already sunk the cost into the game so it's going to make *something* and it might let them survive for a while.

It's a hard thing to quantify, but I think the effect of DEI initiatives is devastating, as it completely overwrites the culture of a studio. It takes the social justice aspect of the company's vision and puts it at the very top, and it can never be enough. This will naturally weed out the talented people that have gameplay, stability, narrative, etc. in the forefront of their minds, leaving behind the ideologically-captured or at least, silenced people behind. And the silenced don't push and challenge each other to make the game better. That's why many games with unnaturally-forced diversity tend to have bad gameplay, as well. But again, it's hard to prove.

DEI itself doesn't stop a good game from selling well, if the game is fun people will play it. Overwatch 1 was very woke and still was beloved. Concord and Dustborn failed by primarily being bland, boring games in terms of mechanics and art design. IDK if anyone has a problem with diversity by itself, it just has to be done right, keeping the sexuality (sex sells), not race or gender swapping old established characters (unless it feels right like with Sam Jackson as Nick Fury), and not making it a primary focus or selling point.
