If I wanted to learn how to be a better caregiver towards animals I would be watching The Kitten Lady, not this. I came for the cuteness, not to be educated from the perspective of a canine who doesn’t have to be responsible for monitoring the health of other pets in the household, and has all the time in the world unlike us humans. But you are right that Kona is being a great role model for the other pets.

My Bfs dog used to babysit his human toddler brothers. She would watch them play outside, keep them out of the street and gaurd them if strange ppl walked by the house. Some dogs are born to be nanas. ❤🐶🐱👼

That's what I'm hoping too. Mama cats leave for hours at a time, especially with kittens this old. I'm happy they saved the kittens but I wish the mother cat could have been saved too.

Oh I know. Poor Mama Kitty. She likely intentionally kept herself WELL hidden from the humans, especially if feral. My heart breaks for her. Tho I know this loving Foster Mom's heart was in the right place, Im hopeful she knew what she was doing & that it was actually the right thing.💕🙏💕

@angel bby No, that's why it's being discussed. For more info I would check out "The Kitten Lady - What to do if you find a feral kitten." During "kitten season" this is scenario is exactly what plays out. Some well meaning person finds kittens somewhere partially hidden. Thinks they're abandoned. Then brings them to a shelter. Thus, leading to a boom of kittens taken from their feral family, only to wind up in shelters where they're ultimately not cared for as well as the mama cat and cat colony could have. That's not to say there aren't times when there are abandoned kittens or injured/incapacitated moms, but that's the exception, not the norm.

I just end up wanting more kittens or to foster kittens so I have the chance to continuously have rounds of kittens to cuddle & play with. Instead I ended up taking in an 11 year old senior cat. Wouldn't trade Tigger though & he's an extra special orange tabby.

A big rottweiler was babysitting my oldest niece in our old summer cottage. She could pretty much do what she wanted with that dog but no strangers could touch my niece or even get to close to her. Sometimes she was also guarded by a little pug who would show her teeths if some stranger was trying to make contact.

We have a cat who adopted our dog when she was a kitten. Our dog just ignores her. Sometimes gives her a good ear sniff or chases her, but that's it. The cat adores her and snuggles up as close as she can get.
