It’s no secret in 1975 Aerosmith was at the pinnacle of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
And this debaucherous lifestyle was leading to boiling tensions within the band.
But despite these tensions, they were still able to stay committed to the music and produce some pretty incredible tracks. Today’s lesson comes from the classic album Toys in the Attic.
And it all started with a grooving bassline that Tom Hamilton stumbled upon one day in the studio.

Thanks so much for breaking down this awesome song. I remember someone saying long ago, “show me a rock song and I’ll show you a blues song where it came from.” I’m 60 and remember when Toys in the Attic came out. It was groundbreaking. I had no idea what the blues was back then, but it’s so cool to hear this great song and see how it’s really just built off a blues base. Can’t wait to start playing this epic song! Thanks again!

Im pretty sure that, instead of it being a pull off from 5 to 0, then hammer from 3 to 4, its simply just hammer from 0-4-5 and then 0-3-4 for both the chorus and outro. I noticed this in original isolated guitar tracks as well as tabs provided by mr tabs.
