In 1984 fresh out of High School I drove one of these for a summer job hauling 50 gallon drums of peppermint oil. I loved that old truck and I drove the wheels off it. Drifted it many times on gravel roads and had it up on two wheels a few times. Loved that old truck. Great job saving this one and making her a real looker too!

Yeah me too, I remember them too. They were produced from the 50's up to the early 90's. They are one of the most produced trucks ever.

@@kman-mi7su thank you I did not know that they were the most produced truck ever, I live in California and I don't see them around anymore. Maybe all the wrecking yards scoop them up?
@kman-mi7su5 жыл бұрын
@@snoopu2601 Yes they probably ended up crushed. I used to see them all the time back in their heyday in NJ. I even drove one once for a company I worked for. Although the one I drove was an 80's vintage. That didn't matter though because not much changed on them over the years.
@snoopu26015 жыл бұрын
@@kman-mi7su I bet I'm glad that someone got the can and done something with it. I saw another video on KZbin this guy was going around and buying and collecting a lot of those big old work trucks panel wagons bread trucks and storing them on his property selling and trading them so they can be preserved or made into a ice cream or food truck. Good thing this guy is thinking ahead so they just don't rot out or get crushed.

I like it. It's extra cool , I don't get the elongated frame thou ? ... I mean , what's the point exactly cause as a hauler of any kind it doesn't look like it would do much good ... Someone clue me in here . C-series were all there were near here at first for tow trucks (get em for cheap off of the fire departments when they upgraded equipment) these are how I learnt everything from sling towing to ramp deck and 2 car rollback in . Lots of time spent in c-series . I hate em ... but I kinda want a 4 door diesel c-series rat rod sling truck as an abomination familiarity ... love hate relationship with c-series . Story of my life 🙃
@smaksymiv495011 ай бұрын
I wanna 6.0 powerstroke one on air ride with air brakes and a sling hanging off the back with a stable boom and outriggers . C-series were the first rollback I ever drove (same reason , cheap fire trucks , easy to make into wreckers) The elongated frame makes em ride less like a lumber wagon 😉
