Why do lolitas always put their eyeliner on before their eye shadow?? This is a serious question, I'm a makeup artist and I'm really confused. This is very cute, though.

Some people just prefer putting their eyeliner first (either because they just like it that way or just want to be able to redo their eyeliner if they ever fail without removing all the eyeshadows underneath. I think there are other reasons but voilà ^^ )

+dKiiou well the main reason that you want to do your eyeliner after is so that you don't get eye shadow on top of the eyeliner as it will look cloudy and dull, or you will have a gap in between the liner and shadow. Obviously anyone can apply it however they like, I just ask because it is technically inefficient.

+Bethany Sandoval yay I agree :) From what I've seen from people that do it this way, they usually don't put much eyeshadow on the main part of the eyelid, rather on the crease so that might be why. Or they're just not worried of a 'cloudy' eyeliner look. ^^

I see what you mean. With me it's a force of habit. I sometimes only wear eyeliner and no eyeshadow so I always draw it first and then touch it up after applying the eye shadow. I think you can also see that in the video. No special meaning behind it. It's just my personal preference. XD I think all girls have some makeup quirks like that, right?! :3

Laura Kang do you mean pencil eyeliner? Because that makes sense, I get that. But you can't blend liquid eyeliner. And yeah if you're only wearing eyeliner obviously there's no issue. I'm talking about this style of makeup, which is very popular with Lolita, in which the eyeshadow is very light and is not meant to "blend in" with the liner, really.

Let me give you some advice! First of all, Dolly Wink lashes are amazing! Nice choice! If you struggle with applying them there might be several hints 1) Check that they are not too long. Sometimes that makes them harder to apply. Maybe cut a bit at the side and see if it fits better 2) bend the lashes (like I did in this video) so they are rounded and fit your shape 3) give the glue a short moment to get sticky 4) if fingers are too difficult then use tweezers 5) don't apply too near to your inner eye corner. Try to get close to your natural lashes without getting glue on them Hope this helps! Good luck!
