Darius, do you play everything by ear? If you do that’s honestly more impressive than reading sheets cause you just feel the song and can replicate it in your own style. I wanna start playing by ear, but i probably have to start learning chord progressions.

Yes, I play entirely by ear. It's a lot of fun. It developed over time. Applying simple concepts and understand chord relationships is very useful. Even if you can't nail the song perfectly, getting a feel of the mood and rhythm is very helpful. It helped me get through the most difficult tunes. Start with easier tunes. There are so many tutorials to get you started.

Hi Darius! Very cool version of Sweet Love! Check out my KZbin Chanel I just started. So far I have one Anita Baker song but planning to sing and record many more. Unfortunately I’m only recording with my phone as I’m still trying to figure out how to do my professional quality recordings with equipment I purchased. What do you use to record? Is it ok if I record myself singing to your recordings?
