Brian Connolly had a fantastic voice. Look up Lettres Damour and Lady of the Lake both from the same album as this. Perfect singing by Brian. A couple of years after these he did a solo single Hypnotized which is superb also 🙂

Definitely one of Sweet's greatest songs .What a pity that Brian's health problems would impact so harshly upon both himself ( he was irreplaceable) and the rest of the band ! BTW This song kicked off my selection of my all-time favourite songs when I had the privilege of having my top 10 songs played recently on my local radio station !

This track is special and unique because not only that it is brilliant but because it did well on charts back in 1978. This was not easy taking into account how “disco” dominated the pop music scene that year.

Not just disco dominating the 1978 pop culture landscape , new wave and punk also dominant forces in 1978 as was the soundtrack singles off shoot of the film "Grease". Important and interesting footnote was that the only other glam rock era act to have a UK top ten single that year was Suzi Quatro.

All 4 of them had amazing singing voices, but Brian was without a doubt the only frontman. I like the songs where Steve sang lead, but Brian always put it over the top. After he was out of the band and they tried to carry on as a trio, the magic was just gone.

This was an incredible top-40 hit song on what was our fairly-new rock FM station WBNQ as I remember being a twenty- something spending lots of time with my car-radio. Bless Bryan Connolly's soul for giving us this "Block-buster," and Ballroom blitz and the Six teens that introduced this UK band to American audiences, inclusive of me. Of course I must give credit to the other talented members of Sweet and their contributing writers and recording engineers, etc.!

He was playing a 1976 Gibson Thunderbird bass. A collector's item that has appreciated in value tremendously. He was about thirty years old at the time. Resemblance to Rick Savage.

Leider der letzte große Hit, dann kam Brian's Rausschmiss und es ging bergab mit Sweet. Brian's Solohits liefen auch nicht so gut, obwohl einige gute Songs dabei waren. Andy spielt auf seinen Konzerten fast ausschließlich die alten Hits, denn seine neuen Songs waren auch nicht erfolgreich. Die Zeit kann man leider nicht zurückdrehen. Brian war der Beste, er hatte eine unverwechselbare schöne Stimme. Vielleicht hätte er nur etwas mehr Hilfe bei seinen Problemen gebraucht. I've always been more of a mainstream guy. I loved the Buffalo Springfield and CSNY but when I heard Sweet's music , I loved it ! It was different from what I was used to but I loved it anyway. They were so brave to come out and play their music the way they they envisioned it. It was simple but so fun to listen to ! Thanks you guys ! I still have to have my Sweet fix every day !

Na gravação aparecem Lennon tocando um teclado de porte pequeno, George na guitarra ou arcodeon, Ringo na bateria, e Paul no contra-baixo, eu creio quê o postêr colado ao lado do compartemento do guarda-roupas era a imagem desta gravação, mas enfim me despertou uma enorme paixão, me transformei em um grande amante do rock' and roll os Beatles atráves deles abriram um portal de luz para novos conhecimentos músicais, e eu sou fãnzaço de rock' and roll até os dias presentes AAHHH...Ressaltando o assunto do piloto Emerson Fitipaldi quê quase perdeu a vida em um acidente de FORMÚLA 01• 🏎 quando aconteceu isto com ele ele logo virou evangélico, e o George Harrison gostava de FORMÚLA-01• 🏎 e era fã do Emerson Fittipaldi e como os dois tinham uma conexão forte de amizade e uma amizade bem próxima, DEUS usou o Emerson Fittipaldi pra evangélizar pro George dentro do quarto do hospital e aí o George virou evangélico, fez a sua conversão ao Cristianismo na época quê virei fã dos Beatles eu só tinha 08 anos de idade, e gosto de rock' and roll e MPB até os dias atuais, presentes!!

I have great memories of the summer of 1978, and I always think of this fantastic song by The Sweet. My favourite one of their hits. I was 16 and my family had just moved to The States from Europe. Thank you Sweet!

R.I.P Brian, Steve and Mick - Gone far too early but have left behind a Fantastic Catalogue of Music. For my money one of the best Rock Bands to ever grace the airwaves ❤❤

Just a great band, and Brian was such a fantastic vocalist. They're still touring, albeit with only one original member, but take it from me, they still sound amazing. If you get the chance, go and see them.
