Strong family resemblance in the pug.😂My mom had a pug that she loved dearly before she passed away. My mom's pug is just like yours, jump into everything. Nice harvest for a raised bed.

The thing I have noticed with sweet potatoes is you cannot plant them so close together if you want to get normal to large sized sweet potatoes. Try to plant them a bit farther apart and make sure they are in full sun all day. I think you will do great in getting many harvests for years to come!

Good tips, thank you! They do get a lot of sun where I planted them this year as well.

Awwww, you sweet baby was jumping in and trying to see what you were digging haha. Dogs love to dig, that was so funny. Your sweet potatoes are beautiful. The garlic was nice surprise, sad to see the tomatillos have to go. Love watching you get such as nice harvest. Hope you have a safe and happy weekend ahead!

I almost half-expected him to start digging along with me, but I guess he just wanted some lovin's. :) Don't feel bad about the tomatillos. I didn't even plant those! They came up volunteer from last year, so I'm sure I'll get more next year without even trying. Lol!

Yes, I would agree you harvested a respectable crop. The wisdom out there is that you should save your own seed and, thereby, quite possibly, increase your harvest next year. Lastly, check on the time of planting; my understanding is that the soil needs to be at a certain temperature at the time of planting. I hope I don’t come across as a know it all; I’m not. I have just been taking in a few sweet potato harvesting videos, and picked these couple of pieces of information which might of interest to you. I hope you all enjoy your sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving. And good luck next year. Sincerely, Larry Clarence Lewis, Ontario, Canada.

Thank you! I appreciate wisdom. I do believe the soil does need to be warm enough as well, which can be hard to judge. I'll definitely need to consider when will be best to plant them here. I might see if I can grow some slips from a couple of these that I have. That way I don't have to worry about buying some from somewhere else.

Great video, when did you plant your potatoes because I want to plant sweet potatoes for the first time and would like to know when to plant them out in the garden? Thanks

I planted these in June, I believe. What zone do you live in? In my area (zone 7a), it's best to get them in the ground in June, May if possible, so they can have as long a growing season as possible.

Nice job. Im In zone 7 They’ll do better In the ground.

Will they? I thought maybe being in a raised bed would give them warmer soil sooner. But it is harder to keep them watered. Next year, I'll try them in ground. Thanks! :)
