This was easily the coolest two stage flight I've seen at NCR!!!!

Хорошо расчитана и определена баллистическая пауза, разделение ступеней безупречное. Полет шикарен, молодцы!

Redundant M/W RRC3 altimeters for the booster apogee/main (cable cutter) deployments, one of these also handled the timed stage separation charge on the AUX channel. Altus Metrum Easy Mini in the sustainer (with an RRC3 backup). Apogee Simple Timer to ignite the sustainer (with a tip/tilt lockout).

Very nice 👌 Gonna need to have higher airspace 😊

Awesome flight per usual! For the next one, not sure what your upper stage motor diameter restrictions are but I've always been a fan of the super long burn sustainers, M650W as a 75 option or the K270W for 54, ofc assuming you have the casings and stick with AT

How does the second stage separate from the first stage
@GBIV Жыл бұрын
A separation charge fires from an RRC3 in the interstage. AUX channel was set to fire on a timer right at booster motor burnout.

@@GBIV thanks for your reply we are building something similar. How does the second rocket know when to fire?
@GBIV Жыл бұрын
@@thembijan an Apogee SimpleTimer lit the sustainer. The timer was trigger by launch Gs. There’s a conduit between the motor mount and air frame to run the wire. You’ll need to run computer simulations to determine the best time to light it. In general, sooner is safer!

I wish I could have been there to see that one. Any chance it will be flown at NSL?

Ha, no, but hopefully another flight next May or June at NCR.
