hi, my name is matteo, I saw your channel this morning and I was immediately passionate about these rockets that you make, I study electronic engineering in Italy and I also wanted to make one which was obviously much smaller and less powerful, but only to do a project where opens the parachute etc, really nice, I wanted to ask you if you can advise me on something, what to read where to study, if you have any social networks (e.g. Instagram) where I can ask you for advice etc, thank you very much you really have a great mind

Do you have to glue the grains into the liner for the k375?
@GBIV5 ай бұрын
Not required on the K375, afaik, just a good idea. I always bond grains to the liner with Elmers Glue All Max following AT’s instructions for the other motors that call for liner bonding. Make sure you put the Warp 9 grain in the right place (at the nozzle)!

Can the star orbiter be flown on non Estes engines?

Absolutely. It will do fine built stock on lower thrust/impulse AP motors. With a little reinforcement (plywood fins) I've flown mine on Hs.

@@GBIV Thanks. I ordered the 24 to 29 mm adapter. Newbie for the modern, vet for the old school rockets. 👍
@brandonbentley54534 ай бұрын
@Workerbee-zy5nx I'm building this for/with my daughter. Putting the Estes camera on it. I work in aerospace so it's go big or go home. I made the typical plywood fin and motor tube ring upgrade. However I went a few steps further. When assembling motor tube/rings: Use a upgraded motor ring as your top ring in standard location. Use a provided cardboard ring down from that about 2" to help support the body tube. Use a upgraded ring just ahead of the fin slot so when you insert the fin, it butts up against it. Use a provided cardboard ring just behind the fin butt up against it to reinforce the rear of the fin. Use a upgraded ring for the bottom ring. Keeping it pressed in the same thickness as the cardboard ring. Insert last cardboard ring set perfectly flush with the bottom of the main body tube like ussual. This adds negligible weight and makes it way stronger and long lasting.

Wow! Now I know what Mach 2.3 can do. I have designs that exceed Mach 5, 2 stages to the Karmann line. I need to come up with a material that can take the heat. Carbon composite fails here. Graphite is appealing, but brittle.

Redundant M/W RRC3 altimeters for the booster apogee/main (cable cutter) deployments, one of these also handled the timed stage separation charge on the AUX channel. Altus Metrum Easy Mini in the sustainer (with an RRC3 backup). Apogee Simple Timer to ignite the sustainer (with a tip/tilt lockout).

Hello, I'm not getting the Peak Velocity in mph and mach number under Flight Performance, or the supersonic for (time) under Flight Log Statistics in RRC3 Flight Log Manager. I'm using mDACS v1.61. Is there a special setting to get that to appear?
@GBIV Жыл бұрын
Special setting is MSPaint. ;) I looked up the speed of sound at the altitude of motor burnout and determined Mach number. Then typed it on a screenshot from mDACS.

Did you do anything special for the drogue deployment ejection charge because of the altitude?
@GBIV Жыл бұрын
Yes! Apogee charges (2!!) are packed tightly at the bottom of long, barrel-like charge cups. Match on top of the powder, dog barf on top of that. Taped and hot glued over the top. Ematch wire held in place with tape and hot glue too.
