Andy Sturmer, formerly of Jellyfish, demo for "Sweet Wingless Angel". I do not own the rights to this song, I just want to share it with any other Jellyfish fans who wanted to hear Mr. Sturmer's voice again.

What a crime we haven't had Andy contributing to the world of popular music since Jellyfish. Damn, I miss that voice and that musical mind.

Years ago I emailed Bruce Brodeen at Not Lame (RIP) and asked if he knew what Andy was up to. He said he spoke to Andy's mom and she told him that Andy had 2 or 3 albums worth of recorded material that he shelved and was uncertain if it would ever see the light of day. He also told me Andy works for Disney and prefers the quiet life and enjoys being a family man. Incidentally, back around 1996, I read an interview where Andy said if he released a solo album, it would be of country music.

That makes sense as Roger said when they started writing for the follow up to Spilt Milk, Andy brought him a country song. Roger said he started crying because he knew that was the end of the band.

We had this as our first dance at our wedding and it was just amazing! A beautiful song for a bautiful day. It should be properly released.

It almost hurts to hear Roger Joseph Manning's solo material, because it is so damn good... but it could be "made whole" in collaboration with Andy Sturmer... just like you can hear Jellyfish in the rare Sturmer tracks, you can ABSOLUTELY hear it in Manning's solo stuff - he bleeds it, like an endless, bottomless pit of sheer melodic pop inspiration...

2013 and still no new Jellyfish.. Andy still has a great voice and Roger is more talented than ever... Such a shame. The world needs more Jellyfish music.

Even if they just got together for the damn money - that'd be FINE - just do it!

Thanks for this. I will never, ever, get enough of this voice. God, I hope his house is made of gold bricks.

great arrangement. Not everyone can be gentle and soulful. Andy can.

I heard the Winnie the Pooh song. It was good as usual, I bought it A family man is admirable, nothing better. I am one too. Maybe his kids will release the music for the world to enjoy someday far into the distant future. Geez, think he would release something just to see a reaction Fans have only been waiting 20 years guess we can wait some more sigh. Please, Andy if you happen to read this.. don't go country. Your catchy, fun pop tunes or ballads are simply amazing. But, I would still buy it!

In my head I could always hear Glenn Frey singing this.. of course after18th January 2016 it couldn't ever happen for real. Still everytime I play this song I can hear Glenn. Come on Mr Sturmer release some more songs. Love ❤ it.

Such a talent, miss the albums Jellyfish should have made over these barren years. For the love of music he just needs to release music in a low key fashion on some small independent label. He should share his gift

Thank you so much for sharing this with any other Jellyfish fans who wanted to hear Mr. Sturmer's voice again (we do!!). Just finding this now and the demo songs from user Karamiehorse - even though they've been posted for years. What a voice: what a talent.

Drives me freaking crazy... why doesnt this guy release something! He is so good. I know he still does music but who is keeping him locked up? Would love to hear more from you Andy. Cool voice.

Andy has suffered from mental illness since his early 20s. He pretty much stays locked in his house in Santa Barbara and doesn’t leave. He has a full production recording studio there and he makes all of his music that he does for Japan and for TV series in cartoons right there in his house and he has everything he needs brought to him

Time for Andy to show his talent again. It's ridiculous that he is moonlighting doing children's music

but the vocal and rhythmic prowess Sturmer brings to the table, along with his writing sensibilities, would flesh the music out to be worthy of Jellyfish at their finest - of that I have zero doubt.

If they got back together it would have to be with the original line up: Roger Manning Chris Manning Jason Falkner

Read a Brighter Day - A Jellyfish Story. Jellyfish will never be again... too many bad feelings among the members. The talent is incredible, but the personalities just don't work...
@TheMichaelseymour4 жыл бұрын
Jason Falkner is the equal to those 2 .....he would have to have equal air time on the record.....3 creatives like that must be hard to get along ...being in bands is like a democracy ...till the stronger personalities emerge ..
@nicolek.36143 жыл бұрын
And don’t forget Tim Smith!

Meanwhile you can follow Jason Falkner's Career, Manning's Career and all the related projects. I recommend TV Eyes, Logan's Sanctuary and both their solo efforts.

I remember reading that Andy came to Roger after their 2nd album with a song that had a country flavor that Roger didn't care for. I wonder if this might be it.
@taylorh44802 жыл бұрын
Nope. This was written specifically for Andy’s first solo album in 1999. He finished the album but disputes between him and Columbia records who he recorded it for kept the album from seeing the light of day
@richardk61962 жыл бұрын
@@taylorh4480 What a shame. All these years later I'd still love to hear it.
