why is 'yes' pronounced like "de" sometimes and not like "ne" or "ye"?
@KoreanVaporeon

+Amy I might be a bit late, but it's just because Koreans pronounce the 'n' differently than we do, they place their tongue a bit closer to the teeth, which makes it sound like a 'd' to us!

I've never seen 응 before now. I guess it really is good I'm going through these lessons I thought I already knew. Your pronunciations of some things like 죄송합니다 are different too. Mostly it's your romanizations that are different. Both are good because it helps to understand the language when I see how fluent speakers translate it. Your romanizations aren't as weird as my native korean speaking friends though, their romanizations make no sense at all :)

@kariwinn I've been paying closer attention when someone says dae in Unstoppable High Kick, and I think the Korean n is somewhere between n and d, sort of like the Korean m is really between m and b, the l is between l and r, the g is between g and k, and the p is between p and b. I've noticed that the tongue positions I use for n and d in English are very close together. So I think what sounds like dae to me may be a hard pronunciation of ne.

It isn't really a word, but I have seen it pop up often on subtitled Korean shows where just after introducing themselves the (possibly younger) person will say something that gets subtitled as "Please take care of me/Please treat me well/Please look after me." And I would like to know more about why they say it.
