Sweetest Proposal of All Time

After dating for five years, Kevin knew that he had to do something spectacular to pop the question. I directed a musical for 3-7 year olds and he decided this was the perfect setting for the proposal. So he wrote a poem and had two six year olds memorize it. After the show and all of the thank you's to staff, a final thank you was announced. So in front of 75 children and 400 parents, neighbors, family and friends, Kevin proposed. It was quite possibly the sweetest proposal of all time!

If you listen to the poem and read the end - you would see the stage and those kids are very important to HER... and she loved that he included them in the place she enjoyed being. It's romantic to her (which for them is the only opinion that matters to moment). I personally would not consider it romantic but terrifying- but when it comes to romance- it's about the couple and what they feel is important.

No, no, no, no, no! It would make me incredibly happy if people would stop with this getting down on the knee baloney. If you love them fine, get married. Marriage is great, everyone should try it a couple of times. But the knee thing, no. That is a sign of supplication, God forgive me for wanting people to get their head out of the clouds and focus more on the relationship than these cute traditions. My imbecile of a nephew is into tradition and doesn't have a rational bone in his body.

Alone? Maybe those 13 people are with someone who doesn't go in for this phony-baloney crap. This isn't romance. When you tell your husband about your mother's favorite song when you were little and he tears the town apart trying to find a copy, THAT is romance. When your wife holds your hand through some awful medical procedure, THAT is romance---because it is driven by real love, not by some silly need to have a spectacle or tradition.
