Thank you for the episode. I'm impressed that you started teaching 2 years after you learned to weave. But on the other side of learning, teaching helps to cement the topic, craft, whatever, in your brain, well done!

Thanks Kelli!! I think I’ll never be done learning to weave and I’m excited to turn around and share what I’ve learned so far, as I go!

Felicia - I would love to see a class on SOS on how to convert a rigid heddle pattern to one that cam be used on a four shaft loom. Happy New Year!

I come from a cosmetology background, and when you kept saying quebecois , i kept hearing Kevyn Aucoin(a famous make artist) 🤣 I love this. I have a rigid heddle loom from ashford and been scouring youtube and seeing all these beautiful floor looms and table looms is giving me envy for more space in my home. Hopefully I can find a school like yours here in NC. Our big fiber festival in Raleigh is in March, I pray to sit at a floor loom then.

Just got a Leclerc loom yesterday - wanted to thank you for your videos about your Leclerc looms (particularly your refinishing one) as they gave me a lot of confidence to make the purchase. I'm a total newbie and will be looking at doing your weaving course.

I learned how to weave on a rigid heddle loom December 2022. Just 7 months ago and I’m hooked. My first sample piece was a straight weave with two colors. After that I created a rug and just last week a cute bag. I’m waiting on my 4-shaft floor loom to arrive so I can play and have some fun. I will definitely take this course when it arrives.

I'm just starting with weaving, but I'm planning on using a triangle shawl loom. I'd love to have a table loom, but I just don't have anywhere to put it! I love seeing these videos though. I can't wait to see the results of that class!

I've had a Leclerc Compact floor loom for a while. I got sidetracked on other hobbies after getting it partially set up. I finally finished setting it up recently and was looking for ideas for first projects. I only have the twelve dent reed it came with, and some 5/2 and 8/2 cotton I bought way back when. I probably should have started stash building with heavier weight yarns to start with. I almost let my School of Sweet Georgia membership lapse while I was sidetracked on other hobbies. I'm glad I didn't. It's time to explore some Sweet Georgia classes and get started weaving.

I've been weaving on a rigid heddle loom for a bit, and recently inherited a 4 shaft table loom. This will be interesting. 😊

you have a really wonderful way of explaining different weaving patterns, thank you. you talk about 4 shaft looms, I was wondering if you have ever come across a loom that is 4 shafts and 4 treadles, which means she is a direct tie-up, I really want to make many things on her, We think that she might have be made in Sweden, but are not positive, I don't know ho to ask or where to look,

Thank you so much for the new classes. I am looking forward to signing up for School of SweetGeorgia as soon as my busy season ends? Would you share the required weaving width for your blankets? I'm working on a 50+ year old Macomber 4 shaft loom with a 20" weaving width, which was a wonderful hand me down from a wonderful friend. :)
@sweetgeorgia2 жыл бұрын
Wonderful to see you here Stephanie!! And so excited to hear that you are weaving! Yes, my blankets were woven on my 45" wide Leclerc Mira II counterbalance, and it was about 38" wide in the reed. You can always adapt the patterns to fit your 20" wide loom and make something else like pillows or scarves or bags, or whatever you like!

@@sweetgeorgia thanks Felicia! I'm eager to join the classes..I just need to be in one spot long enough with my loom to join in. 😀 I'm pondering a way to join two or three 20" wide (really 18" finished) into one wider blanket. I like to think big ❤️

Hi. I have wanted to learn weaving for so long. Love your videos but I’m afraid the weaving terminology is still beyond me. Do you have a good resource for understanding the technical terms? I also would like more info on where to find a starter loom, used maybe. Also classes. I’m in the Great Lakes region. I’d welcome your ideas. Thanks.

Great video! For the second twill gamp with BFL silk fine, was the BFL used for the warp as well as the weft? I recently bought a floor jack loom. Do you think the BFL will be good for warp in that scenario?

Yes! I used BFL+Silk Fine for the warp AND the weft and it worked beautifully. Enjoy your new floor loom! Woohoo!

Do you have a class on basic steps of dressing a 8-shaft loom and how to purchase a raddle for the loom that is the only part I am missing.
@sweetgeorgia2 жыл бұрын
We have several lessons where we show how to dress a loom from back to front. It would work the same for an 8-shaft loom. And what kind of loom do you have? What kind of raddle are you looking for? Cheers
