Barry the Sailor is my dad! Doyle just touched on the miracle of how they reunited. It’s even more powerful when you hear it from both perspectives.

I’ve never met Barry, but I have met and spoken with Doyle years ago and I’ll just say, “God bless Barry for helping give us Doyle.” They’re both treasures.

Awesome! I'm an experience fingerstyle player but I can't say that I've played those exact patterns. Transcribing them now and off to the woodshed! Thank you Don, Doyle and Sweetwater.

I met Doyal Dykes the first time around 20 years ago at the Mad About Music Show in Birmingham England. He was a lovely person & I was blown away as he physically is a man mountain (I'm a small skinny guy!) & he played AMAZING!! He also jammed with bassist T.M.Stevens!!!

One of the things about true masters of an instrument, they don't brag about how good they are they just do it. Then because they are what they are they will answer your questions and show you stuff. I wonder if that sailor knows what he created. Many thanks to him too. Hey Doyle, maybe with this video, you can find sailor X and do a little pickin together for us all. ;-)

It's gonna take me some time to get down this 1 finger picking pattern, I saw him at a music store for only $10 about 10 years ago, best $10 I ever spent, I consider Doyle dykes the most molodic sweet sounding creative guitarist, I would have never figured this out in a million years, but I did figure out my own style using 6 in a pattern, this is the 1 pattern I have Ben looking for thank you google youtube

Hi Doyle, I play finger style guitar without a thumb pick. However, I would like to start using one. Which brand of thumb pick do you use, and which ones would you recommend? I’ve tried one and it does not work for me. Thank you for the great music, I’ve been enjoying it and learning from it. THANK YOU!

Newbie here... Can anybody tell me what is the chord progression for the 5th string pattern, then the chords he's using for the 6th string pattern...? I'm not even advanced enough to recognize all the shapes... lol. I think I understand that differnt chords go with the different patterns... and that has something to do with the chord having it's "tonic" on the 6th string vs. 5th string... Does that basically just mean use the 6th string patter for chords that actually USE the 6th string, and the 5th string pattern for chords that USE the 5th string (i.e., at all)?
@dieselman74532 жыл бұрын
Wat chords was he using with that pattern it’s so fast I can’t make it out 😂😂🎸🎸
