Yamaha Clavinova CVP-705 Digital Piano Review

I have always loved mine. Sound and features are unmatched for digital pianos. A word of warning to buyers though. Sadly I got a lemon. I and others have been saddled with a number of problems-problems that require an advanced certified technician to come out to your home (keys sticking, loud keys, a pedal issue, etc.) One of these key striking problems is yet to be resolved. I have the same problem, some of my keys have lost their sensitivity and play super loudly regardless of how lightly I press them. Maybe it’s because it’s almost 5 years old already? Still haven’t gotten an available technician to come to my place :(

I can vouch that the Bösendorfer sounds very nice on this piano. Also, best part is if you have any problems or want to change the sound with any of the hundred instruments in this piano, you can very flexibly change how much reverb, brightness, harmonic content, high-low keys, chorus, insertion effect, pan volume and way many more features to adjust how you want it to sound. Although I prefer acoustic pianos, the flexibility and various instruments you can play on this model is just pretty amazing to pass up on. It will all depend on how you will tune and use it since with this you can do it yourself any time and save your settings.

@ wilderness music How would anyone get mad that this is not a acoustic Grand Piano, lol. Sweetwater does great demo videos by people with great musical talent that can show the true capabilities of the instrument.

It’s not a keyboard. At least I wouldn’t consider it a keyboard but a piano, a digital piano...with many features maybe.

this is totally overpriced imo. i could get a motif/modx/montage for much less and get many more features.

Those are keyboards. They will not have the proper weighted keys. Motif/modx/montage are workstation/arrangers keyboards first. The CVP are pianos first with styles and other features. That is the difference.
