Saint Dime is the most difficult guitarist to recreate faithfully. And I love his attitude: Who cares, as long as it sounds good

It's been so long and sometimes it's still hard to believe they are gone. Dime and Vin were each 1/2 of the most brutal riff machine ever. Listen to dime isolated and it rocks. Listen to Vin isolated and it rules. Listen to them bounce rhythms off each other and its goodness multiplied by a million. They will never be replaced. Never. Ever.

Most people don’t realize that Dime’s tuning was off as he usually did it by ear. It was almost always 1/4 step flat. Even with his Dropped tunings.
@SixString_J55 жыл бұрын
False. It was tuned to 430 hz for A as he thought it sounded better. Concert pitch or standard tuning is 440 hz for the A. He got the idea from Van Halen. This tuning is also used by the Beatles. The more you know.

That's just like "The Thing That Should Not Be" by Metallica. Everybody plays it in drop D, but there is one chord that, although it can be played on the drop D tuning, doesn't sound right. Also, I've never found a video where they are playing it in drop D.

Yeah dime tune 432 hz instead of what we use in 440 and thats part of why its "flat" technically the first microtonal modern metal guitarist lol
