I noticed that "S" Hoops are being used on this set. I have used them for years and have found that it really brings out the tone and focus out of the drums that other rims just don't.

i have made my own suspension system , before sonor, to my peals.i didnt like the sst system neither the optmiount. so i took the pearls bt-3 tom bracket,drilled three holes in the shell and i used vidration dumpers between the shell and the bracket .perfect sustain and easy to tune and change heads

I’m wanting to upgrade my Mapex Pro M to a pro level kit... I’ve been looking at the DW exotic woods, sonors designer series along with the SQ1’s, and Yamaha’s live oak kits... i had my heart set on the kit you’re currently playing but obviously wouldn’t need two bass drums and such. But I also saw a clip of Mapex’s Black Panther kit with reinforcement rings (I actually thought it was a Sonor kit at first.) I love how much attack the toms have but they sound so full of life! I was able to find a beautiful Sonor Designer series kit for $2000 but it only comes with a 10in and 12in rack, 16in air floor Tom, and a 22x16 bass drum. I’m trying to stay under 7,500$ which I only need toms and a bass drum as i have plenty of snares, stands, and great set of cymbals... anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm, with that budget you can get pretty much anything except a full blown custom kit, honestly I’d go for a Yamaha Absolute series set, or Tama Star drums

arthur kitchen zildjian is a very basic company because they were the original. They’re the baseline standard of cymbal making that was then improved on by companies like Meinl

Personally I play yamaha and Zildjian but I would also play sonor and zildjian, sonor is outstanding and zildjian k line is awesome

I am a Zildjian guy since way back when. I'd go for a Yamaha Recording nowadays, if I had the dogh. These drums are about €1000 less than a YRC kit. Still think they are a bit too expensive, although not at all as expensive as the flagship SQ2. DW is way over rated and way too expensive. But again that is IMO.

Slight muffling. It just makes it a tiny bit harder for the reso head to move, so the sustain is shorter.

So, prior to his position at Sweetwater, Nick endorsed Mapex, Aquarian, Vic Firth and Meinl. As a representative of Sweetwater, it would be a conflict of interest to endorse any company. So to avoid favoritism, he has suspended his endorsements. The videos are made to feature the products sold by Sweetwater. Sometimes they send him out to the factories and do features in conjunction with his shows with bands such as this one, Big Big Train, or Spock's Beard (We toured the Pearl Factory in Nashville and they made a kit for the show and ultimately for Sweetwater). So, you will see him behind many kits in an effort to sell drums.
