I used the ME 70 for about 4-5 years and LOVED IT!!! I never had the chance to try the ME 80 and the ME 90 was my latest purchase. What I love about it is that it has all the sounds we all love from the ME 70 and also, the EQ is VERY responsive and sensitive! If you know how to EQ a good tone, it’s a WONDERFUL unit! It’s like an amp, not 10000000000 amps and effects, you have what you need and it’s more than enough!

Also question for you for patch/preset changes. Do the knobs move to the proper positions on their own every time you change presets/patches? Or does the device just change the settings internally and bypass the knob settings once the preset/patch is loaded? Just something i've been wondering.

I figured out what needs to be done to get these better sounds, there are too many levels and gain stages and it gets nasty sounding if they are up higher. Use the X crunch , gain 3/4, (level no more than half way, ) you need to turn on the eq /fx 2 always. It’s the” post” eq . Lower that level below half , now you have a cleaner headroom . Now use the main output at its highest range , 3/4 or more , this will balance the gain stages . Add a Ts od, if needed for metal , gain off, level below half , tone past half . Keep both eqs knobs moderate , boost or cut. This is for di, line to pa. Also raise the gate to 50.

I had sold my ME-80 and regretted it. Before this came out I was hoping Boss would upgrade the ME to have all the new AIRD models. Curious why they didn't continue the 00 theme by calling it the ME-100? Anyway, I got impatient and got a used POD Go. All (well, most) of the Helix models for a much more reasonable price! Honestly, there isn't a bad modeler on the market these days. I will probably pick one of these up eventually as I'm replacing my tube amps. Hard to justify them anymore!
@TheDilligan Жыл бұрын
Honestly the Pod Go is great and gives you a little more freedom than the Me-90. Like you could use two overdrives if you wanted. Also, on the Pod Go, did you know you can export a preset on your computer, open the preset in notepad, remove the Amp, Cab, and FX loop from the code, save it and import it back into the pod, and then you have extra effects blocks and DSP. If you fill them all out, it does get buggy because the unit does run out of dsp without warning when you do this.. But it will totally work for adding like one extra effect when you are playing into an amp and don't need an amp sim.
@Nightwinflyer Жыл бұрын
@@TheDilligan I didn't know you could tweak the code. I have an old POD HD desktop that I use primarily for the FX. Used it was cheaper than any new reverb pedal.

For anyone who already owns this device: When you create patches and save them, do the knobs all move into place on their own once you load the saved patch? Or does the device simply save the knob settings, then bypasses how the knobs are currently set once your saved patch is selected? Hopefully this question made sense. I've been looking for videos just to see what happens when a saved preset is selected lol.

I do like that nifty preset that Dan is playing at 02:20 but I did notice something; Only the Reverb and Mod pedals are lit up but in the button section only Pre-amp, Comp, Mod and delay are lit up, and it shows U! so it's a created preset. @billyguthrie317612 күн бұрын
Duded if you will turn the gain of the distortion down till the harmonics just first start becoming ambient an then turn the sustain up. you will get a much cleaner velvety distortion. To much gain just causes the production of unnatural distortion that's why it sounds way to fuzzy instead of cutting through. The key here is using the sustain to boost the amount of good distortion rather using gain to make it soud more distorted. The unit is set up so that the delay and modulation do not affect the over all volume so for this reason turning their volumes up an down merely select how prevelant the effect is in the overall mix. turning their levels up as loud or louder than the distortion creates a washd out sound. Turning the voume of the delay and the modulation to about 3 that will also clear up unwanted distortions that are being created by those effects. It will also let the natural guitar signal shine through more so that you get a nice warm distortion instead of a fuzzy one. Your clean sound will be much more ambient too. You wanna opt for the distorted sound to make up 60 to 65 percent of the mix This gives you more of the dry signal of the guitar and that fattens up your sound while leaving it knicfe cutting clear at the same time.

My experience with multi-effects pedals is supported by this video. There are many effects that are “interesting” but really not usable. I have the feeling that manufacturers of these pedals value quantity over quality. As a result, users can only really take advantage of a fraction of the available options. That said, that fraction is still worth the investment vs. buying individual effects for those of us on a budget. But be warned, buy this or any multi-effects pedal and you will only use a fraction of the available effects as the rest are “interesting” but not practical.

I was almost considering trading in my GT100, but then I realized; in manual mode, you can't change the order of effects. While the layout here is the most common and logical layout, there are times when modulation or even delay effects should precede the OD. Maybe you can do this in patch mode but then you're not in manual mode, and can only control one effect in the patch with the CTL footswitch. So, cool, but maybe I'll look at the GX100 or GX10.

Feels like we're never going to progress past the single input and single FX loop with this type of unit. It become s a moot point, how good it sounds. Guess it's a price point thing.

I bought this from Sweetwater, was working great and now it makes absolutely no sound at all but cuts on and works like everything is normal... Any ideas on how to get it making sound again? I have reset it and of course all the volume knobs work and am running it through a Katana as a speaker. Doesnt even make sound when I use headphones too!

I really want to buy this unit, but sadly, there's no balanced D.I. out, which is extremely important to me.

I have done the calculations, this pedal has ♾️+1 settings. If you started the vid again and try to set every configuration available you would end up dying before trying them all…. LOL Came for the review, stayed for that frikkin awesome PRS. :) ❤ from 🇨🇦 \m/, ,\m/ EDIT: Holy cripes, Just checked out the price. What an exceptional deal for such a powerhouse! I AM SOLD! BOSS wins again! :)

Too bad you cannot separate the foot switches from the control knobs, so you could put the latter on a stand, and not have to bend down constantly to tweak parameters.
