Sweetwater made the best decision ever when they hired Daniel Fisher. I really love his knowledgable approach, honest reactions, and the genuinely fun time he has playing with synths
@paterpillar5997

True story, they never actually hired Daniel. He walked into the showroom and started playing with synthesizers. He was so amazing that the staff just stood there and watched, listened rather, for 13 hours straight. When the morning came, they all went over to the cafeteria for coffee and went on with their days. Daniel, however, never left. He remains there, always playing, ever vigilant.

Such a nostalgic sound. Behringer is really good at replicating true vintage sounds without any of that "remake" coloration. Sounds like they went back in a time machine and brought back the real thing.

The strings are absolutely gorgeous, and don't forget about the external synth input! With that you can expressively vocode any sound, e.g. drums, other synths, etc. That alone makes this instrument much more than a one trick pony.

Modern, this is a vintage synth made for today, most of these new synths today are designed around the synths from the 70's and 80's, what you would call modern synths are more sequencers and samplers, and those aren't synths.

peordered one of these from you guys the minute they said they might be making it. Got it and absolutely love it. I bought it for the analog strings but I absolutely love the voices too. I wasn't planning on using the vocoder much but I plugged a cheap gooseneck dynamic into it and wow,vocoding is a lot of fun with this machine. I have a Streichfett too, they sound pretty different. I wish the ensemble was a bit thicker on this guy but its true to the original. Love this box.

I'd like to know if anyone gets some kind of medal or prize (let alone a free unit of this model) for guessing that the theme you played when you switched away from the vocoder back to the string synthesizer section was "Miss America" by Styx. Much as I enjoyed the demo overall, it was that section that definitely caught my attention.

yesterday i realized that the robot voice sounds more electric when using the internal carrier signal. when using external carrier signals, something human always resonates. This problem doesn't seem to be unique to the Vc340 but is inherited from the original. i've heard VP330 demos where the human voice came through as well.

I was never a fan of DISCO but I certainly enjoyed Gary Wright, Dream Weaver, and many of his other songs back then. Gary was using an Arp, and a Rhodes piano on stage. Not sure which Arp synth he used, but the Behringer VC340 is certainly close enough or even better. If that's the sound you're after, the VC340 delivers. If I were to buy a low cost synth, I would buy it from Sweetwater for the additional 2 year warranty Sweetwater provides with their equipment.

It's a Roland VP330 clone, and a very well done one at that. I only wish it had a 4 octaves keyboard. I really don't know why Behringer didn't do that. They said it was to make it more portable, but a 4 octave keyboard is not that big anyway? Luckily, I can use another MIDI controller with a bigger keybed to play it. But I still believe they should have gone with the Deepmind 12 form factor. As Dan said, it does mainly 3 things, but it does them perfectly, like the VP330 does, but at a very reasonable price point and without the potentially expensive maintenance of a vintage Roland. I love my VC340.
