I live between Bali and Thailand. Was married to a Thai lady for 25 years. First started going to Thailand in November of 1986.. Helped a close friend rig up his 72'' Schooner in Phuket. Surfed alone at Kalim bch, .Patong bch. but the reefs are way better then sand bottom. Airport reef is thee best spot for some point breaks. I surfed out in the Mentawaii islands and the Telos islands all the way up to the Bay of Plenty and surfed Asu, Treasure island, Nias, and plenty more surf spots for a solid 13:years. Mostly on the Mangalui surf charters out of Padang Indonesia. I love surfing in Phuket to Koaw Lak north of Phuket. Also surfing Nai Harn in the late 1980's till like 2012. Never any crowds in those early years and back then Patong where are all the girly bars are. back then until like 1992: their was only 2 'smalll streets and mostly all jungle back then. Phuket and Pattaya were both small tiny really cool and uncrowded beach towns and the surfers were far and few between. I remember the only girly bar on the beach in Pattaya as u are walking towards walking street, which was way small to back then was the Tahitian Queen bar and it's still there now and the same owner from back in 1986 when I first went there still owns it now in 2024. How I miss those old days. Even here in Bali back then Kuta and Seminyak we're very small and the surf scene was way small to. P S. If I misspelled some words? I'm know English major. Surf is flat here in Bali today. Peace up. 🌴✌️🏄🏄🏄✌️🌴

Loterally just got back from 2 weeks in phuket. What a place. Absolutely mesmerised and taken in by it. I wish it was closer to me in the UK. Im a bodyboarder and i was in at Nai harn and Karon. Managed 4 sessions in and around sight seeing. I will 10000% be back there.
