Nicely tied. Flatwings are superb fish catchers. They work particularly well for longer minnow or small eel imitations (like sand eels). I used to fish flatwings weighted in the front with a cone or bead so they would have an up & down motion to take advantage of the flat wing.

My husband has a muddler variant tied on a matuka body with the muddler head. That flatwing is clever as well. Subscribed

That sounds like a deadly combo. I often tie a Clouser Muddler combo that is deadly and your coment has motivated me to make a video of that fly. It should be published soon. Thanks for watching and good luck catching, SWF

Got a tarpon on a very similar pattern this year. Saw this pop up in my recommended, wanted to drop a comment and a like. Best of luck on the channel!

Nice looking fly. I know browns in my area will eat this for sure. Quick tip: Use a double-sided razor. So much sharper, and the blades are thinner, so you can bend the blade to help shape the deer hair heads!!

Thanks for the tip, I actually prefer the double sided razor. I have been unable to find them in my area so I mail order them. It's time to place a new order. Thanks for watching and good luck catching, SWF.

@@slickwillyfly7158A local drug store should carry double edged razor blades in the shaving supply section.
