I have the SWFA Super Sniper 3-9 FFP that I used on my issued Mk-12. When I was in the ARMY on my 3rd deployment the armour had replaced it with the Leopold and asked if I wanted the old SWFA because it wasn't on the books and he couldn't turn it into DRMO. So of course I said yes and it sits on my MK-12 clonish. It has been through a lot and it still tracks like it was brand new. Great video

Hoping they bring out another fixed 6x Additionally, and I might seem to be an odd ball on this one, with swfa's earned reputation for durability, Id also like to see a short capped turret fixed 4x from them. Something to put on a brush gun (think 45-70). Not aware of anyone still making a hunting minded fixed 4 with decent glass, rated for centerfire, and reasonably priced
@The_PotionSeller16 күн бұрын
A short body "not and acog" would be pretty nice. 4x is a good magnification all around
@ajsomp3 күн бұрын
They have said they are bringing the 6x and 3-9 back as well. If you look at the “reticles” on their site it lists the 6x reticle in there. Also the link text for the 10x actually has “6x copy” in the text, so I assume they are just waiting for supply. They mentioned Q2 in an email but obviously that has a wide range of time in there. Personally I’m a fan of the 6x for 500 and under shooting (which should cover most everyone hunting).

Most people buy a scope and turn it up to full power and never turn it down again. NEVER!!!! Fixed is the way to go, even though most don't realize it. Love the SWFA scopes. This is very good news. Thanks for sharing.

So glad to see SWFA update this product! And YES SWFA KNURL THE FOCUS RING! I have several older SWFA fixed and adjustable magnification scopes. They have all been solid dependable rugged scopes.

Fixed power scope are great. But I don't know why they're not more present. It's like in photography, fixed lenses are better but we often use variable lenses at minimum or maximum (so fixed ...). Excellent channel, keep up the good work 👍👍

It’s like that with a lot of LPVO out there. Guys tend to use 1 or 6 power (for example) which really doesn’t make the variable portion of the scope that worth it.

The Gen II seems like a winner. A very smart upgrade while keeping everything that made the original a legend. With that said, my favorite SWFA is my 1-6 HD. A mil reticle, with capped or uncapped turret option. It does duty on my 16" Grendel.
@JustinTheMan36922 күн бұрын
I owned one of the 10x on an DMR build of an M1A built with H&R USGI M14 parts and in a Sage Chassis. I had heard that the M1A platform can be hard on scopes and this was the best option since so much of my budget was spent on the rifle itself. It would barely hold 2 moa with 168gr GMM. I sold it with the scope and got my money back and built an accurized AR-15 "SPR" type build that will shoot 1/2 moa all day long with match ammo. Even with 55gr bulk stuff it will shoot 1.5 - 2.
@farmerwayne140422 күн бұрын
Yes, Sir! As b4 I have the gen1 12x moa with the center dot. I like the dot much better as you can go exactly to the point at which you want to hit. And with its open area around the dot, you have a better time seeing exactly what's around that area. Knurled focus? U bet. I hate that slippy tight oddly placed focus ring on the gen 1. I was going to put a strip of skater tape on it. But Id love to have the updates on my 12x.

For anyone interested, I found the parallax ring on my SWFA SS 10x difficult to operate well and fine tune while I'm behind the scope (i.e., aiming). Luckily... I figured out that the Vortex Switchview lever # SV-5 (1.81" / 46mm) is a perfect fit on the SS's parallax ring. It's kind of expensive at $55 but really well worth the money IMO. And you won't find a better made one.

i've got the Gen1 versions of both the fixed 10x and the 3-15x variable, and the 2.5-10x ultralight scope. I love all 3. Definitely think these Gen2 versions are a step up and I'm glad they added the zero stop, top screws from their HD line, and options to cap the windage --- ALL the while keeping the best sub-$400 combo of robust build + glass quality combo. I'll hold on to my Gen1 versions for now. For new-to-SWFA shooters, these Gen2 models are worth checking out.

Its entirely up to you and your ability to use it quickly and effectively. If you can, then I would say it is. If you have a hard time with it. Look for something with a little less magnification, and a thicker reticle. Illumination is always a plus.

The 10x is the one of the only Swfa I haven’t owned yet. I was a dummy and sold most of them - because I didn’t have a rifle for all of them. The 6x is one of the ones that stuck around. I may grab a 10x or a new 3-15 just to put on my 6.5 PRC until the new 6x or 3-9 come in stock. For $350 it’s hard to get Japanese glass, reliable turrets/tracking, and zero retention. Everything else in the price range is simply junk.

I like their scopes but the lifetime warranty is if they feel like it. I have a defective 3-9 model, elevation turret is jammed up and wont turn, was like that out of the box. Tried contacting them several times and crickets. Now it just sits on a shelf as a reminder for me that "not all that glitters is gold". Keep in mind warranties are not always what they claim to be. I still think the 3-9x42 is a great scope and will keep the one I have that still works till it stops working.

@@Sirlants_alot After re reading my comment sounds like a rant and didn't mean it that way. I bought said scope close to 10 years ago, called got put on hold and after waiting a good while hung up. After a year or so sent and email, after about another year emailed again. I didn't try that hard to get it fixed so partly my fault I guess. I think all there old scopes are discontinued now so contacting them would be pointless, and that is mostly on me.

Looks like the SWFA 10X is an amazing deal when you consider that you can purchase a top of the line hammer to use on nails instead of going with the USO scope. Here is where I’m struggling. How is it that a Chinese made scope like the MIDAS TAC HD 4-16×44 APRS2 FFP MIL has an accurate reticle and turrets while a Japanese scope does not? Is it a design issue or a manufacturing issue? You know 3% is a bad percentage, because that is what a CC charges! 3% off is unacceptable considering that you can cant your rifle and be off the mark. It’s time for a redesign or EC.
@filippocorti676022 күн бұрын
It looks like SWFA cancelled their Gen 1 6X fixed scope. I wonder if they will come out with a 6X Gen 2 model. Question: How does a fixed power 6X scope with a 1X red dot or 1X prism located either on top of the scope or to the side?
@sethperry132322 күн бұрын
Hopefully they come out with a compact but in (1.5-2) -- 10ish x 30ish.... maybe similar to say a mark 5 or even re release the ultralight but shorten that bad boy up a few inches ... the only UL I see anymore for sale says it's a rimfire model..🎉
