I bet in all those times we’ve watched a nest (be it this nest or a different nest that have had parents raising eaglets there for many years like decorah for instance.) and we’ve seen a juvie or sub adult fly in, it has to have been one of those eagles babies from a previous season at least once! Haha I worded this comment kind of confusingly, sorry about that! But I think you know what I’m trying to say. In my limited knowledge of where juvies go post-fledge, the odds just seem good that it’s happened before because we’ve seen so many visiting juvies and SA’s at the various well-established nests that have cameras on them. Like I said though my knowledge is pretty limited, for all I know, it could be a pretty well established fact that the juvies travel incredible distances when they fledge in order to start their lives. I’m sure the data out there exists to see an average of how far they go after they fledge. Haha sorry for the rambley and confusing comment! For some reason I was having trouble trying to articulate these thoughts. The worst is when that happens in real life and I start talking while assuming I can figure it out as I go along. ☺️ Oh my!! She’s GORGEOUS and so calm. This is one of Harriet & M’s offspring. Her head is pretty much white - getting to her Bald Eagle stage of life. But she knows where she is & M knows that she is one of his babies. This is such a beautiful scene. I love these guys - they make me tear up just thinking about the possibilities of how they can & will interact with one another. They both know who each other are 😊 I forgot what we called the female who loved her Dad and stayed way pass the normal Juvie time frame but this could be her. 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️🦅🥰🦅

This beautiful subadult has to be one of Harriets and M15 youngsters. He is so comfortable being there looking around as though it's all very familiar to him. This was amazing to see! GM🌞 LH awesome job on the multi cam views as when I was watching this live I didn't switch cam angles. She was a very beautiful Sub Adult and no doubt was interested in M15 and what he was up to. Maybe next year she'll be ready for a nest of her own and find a mate. It was also nice to see her in such good shape which shows obviously that she's thriving. I'm glad this visit was without incident and M was not too stressed since she was clearly just curious. This subbie is an older offspring from Harriet n M15 as he has the genetic white strips on his wing like daddy. Could be E18/E19/E20? He knows this nest!❤

Most fledglings go north. The only eagle banded from this nest is E8 and he's never been seen past release. It's sweet to think about but not likely, IMO. I've got some telemetry studies I can share with you dealing specifically with migration if interested ❤

I looked up the age progression of the Bald Eagle and this one is clearly about 3 1/2 years old. "At three and a half years, the eagle may still be referred to as an immature or sub-adult. It starts to show more features of the adult eagle, getting many white feathers in the head and the tail, though there is usually a dark patch by the eyes and a dark banding or terminal end on the tail. The beak and eyes have lightened considerably, and some of the beak may now have the yellow coloring of the adult with darker areas as well."

@@brandihouser. if they do band, it's way before they fledge. Some nests do band such as a West End Catalina Island eagles. Mom and dad are banded and their eaglets every year. They do not band at this nest 🙏💞
