SWFL Eagles-Harriet and M15 Rebuilding Post Hurricane| The Base Of The Bowl and Unexpected Visitors|

In this exhilarating video, you can observe M15, and Harriet bringing nesting materials to the main nest. This action-packed video features stick transfers and the arrival of never before seen visitors at the pasture. The Queen Of Florida is pushing herself to the max to get the nest ready for egg laying. Toward the end of the video, Harriet flies in with a squirrel in tow. She ate the morsel at the secondary nest. This video is part of a series that was recorded after hurricane Ian destroyed the main nest. My goal is to document the process of a pair of bald eagles building a nest from start to finish and showcase the intensity, hard work, and dedication that our beloved eagles put into preparing for the nesting season. ❤️🕊🦅🌿💚🌿🦅🕊❤️ Harriet and M15 are incredible nest builders❣️ 👏 They have to take into consideration that they need stability, a surface and a bole to hold the eggs which will provide their E's with room to grow, wingersize, hover, branch and fledge. Plus, they build the side rails for safety and early training for the E's, with cascading and overhanging intertwined twigs and branches to protect the eggs and chicks from predators that might climb up the tree. And, they do this without a blueprint, regulatory concerns, an architect, construction crew, machinery, design consultants and all the various things that humans contend with, or need, to put up any structure of size. In some places, we can't even put a shed or storage fixture in our own backyard without it meeting specifications. All this by instinct. God given instinct that they rely on to lead their lives in the most efficient and effective manner possible, given that they do all they need to do with a beak, two wings, two legs with claws and talons..... and they make it look easy !!! For the first time I actually watched this video on my large TV, magnificent !!! And the music was stunning. I can’t believe how hard M ? Or Harriet tried to get 2 of the huge branches, but they were stuck in that pile. I live in northern Wisconsin and see many eagles but these close up videos and the slow motion gave me chills, and a greater respect for eagles. Those in our neck of the woods have raised their chicks and will pause until the spring. Food is plentiful year round but it gets seasonally cold with snow possible in late November through early March. The eagles nest in a tall snag near the waters of the strait. Flotillas of duck, geese and any number of water fowl assemble off shore. Many are just passing through on their migratory way. That and the fish are 2 sources of food here. I’ve watched their hunting strategies while waiting for my son at his bus stop or on our yard. Once 2 were fighting over a seagull 😬in February. Must have been slim pickings that day! They are strong fast fliers, they can rip a branch off a tree in mid flight and then fly it back full throttle to the snag. It’s about 100 feet tall and it can be seen quite a ways off. I’ve seen fledgling eagles standing on the street light poles at the beach. They are definitely an apex predator. Watching your pair up close is fascinating. So much ritual and postering in their team work. I hope their new nest will bring them good luck in hatchlings!! We love our national bird!

Yes, hurricane Ian destroyed the nest. Some of the nest tree branches were damaged. Our beloved eagles started rebuilding the nest from scratch. Progress is made daily. Thank you for watching the video 🙏❤️🦅

Bald Eagles are protected under federal laws. During nesting season, the nesting area cannot be disturbed. Trust the eagles, they will find a way to make everything work🙏 ❤️🦅. Thank you for watching the video!
