Yes, it’d be nice if some idiot with a flash doesn’t show up tonight to disturb his rest and sleep. I saw that on live cam last night and it made me want to commit unspeakable acts on that person. No wonder M15 was off his game today in feeding the chicks and had to reply on rabbit left overs. Thankfully he had that available for E22 in the evening. Poor birds. Humans can be so stupid. Is it my imagination or does intruder have a broken toe on his left foot. It seems to be flapping in the wind.

Although I think this intruder looking like a Female is actually interested in this nest and is the one that's been around since our Beauti ful Harriet's absence.. Aww.. When I watch this, I get the feeling of "I'm already feeding 3 mouths on my own, I can't afford you. And I have hope that my Harriet will be back or that nobody can't quite replace her" ...poor daddy is so strong and smart, probably does want a mate if his wife don't come back, but too busy being a single dad. My prayers of strength and courage and lots of love to Daddy (M15) and the babies (E21 E22)

It’s been 10 days since Harriet disappeared & M-15 has gone through so much. 😞 😢 Grieving for his mate Harriet, intruders, getting knocked down by an owl, leaving his eaglets alone just to get them and himself a bite to eat. Omgosh poor M-15. And so it will continue. It takes 2 to do this job raising these eaglets. He’s trying his best to be strong. So far, so good. A few years back in Iowa an eagle went missing the father in the snow, and she took care of three babies by herself and raised them by herself, and we called her the queen I think now, the title for him, raising two babies by himself in Florida, and the trouble he’s been having he is a king👑

@D MorningStar. Just wanted to say hi and also to say thank you for your ❤️like to my message. This has been not only an extremely stressful and scary day for M15 and the Eaglets but it has also been one of me because I haven’t experienced anything to this extent and only have seen GHO’s attack H&M. I have found videos that I didn’t even know had happened but haven’t watched them yet too. I do however keep going back to the live cams to see if M15 and the Eaglets are still there and safe and relaxed too and it seems they all is calm. Me too, as Oz was harmed by Marvel in 2015 when Oz ended up caught in barbed wire fence and got blood poisoning from rust on that fence. All wire fences should come down and all wind turbines down..

Poor creature - what a stressful season this is proving to be... no partner, intruders galore and even an improvised night photographer hoping to impress his mum :( Thanks for posting this, D - I had briefly checked the live stream yesterday, but only from the moment the intruder 'parked' itself on the upper branch. Regrettably, eagles prefer an easy meal rather than spending energy hunting or fishing, and there is no crown of leaves to speak of, on that tree, to at least partially shield the nest from sight.

I am a volunteer at the John Bunker Sands Wetlands center in Seagoville Texas. We have a pair of nesting eagles. Year before last we had a human invasion scaring off our eagle's of the nest from 11p-1am. E-16 ended up dying. Luckily they mated again so we had E17-18. Unfortunately they moved their nest so now we can not see them live any longer. I have followed Ozzy and Harriet for years till Ozzy was killed. Then the next year Harriet came back with M-15. Now M-15 has stepped up to the plate and has been a Great Dad. I'm praying 🙏 for the safe return oh Harriet in the mean time. Texas Eaglholic

This happened yesterday too during a feeding but the intruder never jumped into the nest. I heard 2 eagles at some point chirping away during a feeding when M was feeding 22 off to the right side. Right up above it seemed was an intruder but the cam operator never panned up.

I know that Magnificent M had been at the nest once to bring a small fish for the Eaglets and I believe E21 had snatched it away so 22 couldn’t have anything and Magnificent M left and it was still quite early too like, after 7-something. Hi Susan. You probably know by now, but in case you don't. M15 has been flying in and out all morning. It's hard to see him sometimes on Cam 2, but he has been flushing out intruders alot this morning. Not too long ago he brought a nice big fish, and 21 and M15 ate most of it. There are some leftovers that 22 gave a good go at, but I don't doubt Dad will bring more if he is able. He is dealing with so much all on his own, but don't doubt that his eaglets are always number one on his mind. He knows when 22 doesn't eat very much and he will make special efforts during feedings to get some down to that little one's crop and belly.

Also, I do very much worry about Magnificent M having to do everything by himself but I have to say that he is doing a magnificent job and that is why I named him that.❤️🥰🦅. Also, right after I send my question to you, I went to check on the Eaglets again and sure enough, he was there feeding them but 22 sure looked so sad and her head was down and I was worried about 22 getting anything. I have been so concerned about M15 and his babies cause of all the trouble be has been having with a lot of different Eagles. But, he has been absolutely amazing with it all too. What worried me is that he is going to be getting so worm out and stressed out that he will end up getting very sick and there will be no more new mates with him or even if Harriett comes back next season too I don’t think he will be up to having anymore Eaglets. Alas, she tried too hard, and too soon by coming into the nest. I hope that with time he allows her in. He could do with a little help.

My heart was pounding when I saw this live happening!! M15 definitely held his ground, intruder was definitely a female, much bigger than M. She was bold! Poor babies were frozen while the fight ensued! 😢 Not much food today because of intruders and E22, got some nibbles but not much! Hopefully, tomorrow will be less stressful for our M and babies. @@DMStarXOXO Thank you DMStar. I knew I could count on you 🥰. After I sent out a couple of messages - I did what I should’ve done and searched previous videos and found out what needed 😣. But I’m so very disturbed by this news though. And I hate to say this bc I absolutely love Harriet & M but they have more heartbreaking issues (I think) out of the other two nest I know about. And bc of that I just check on them and to not get too attached anymore. I believe it was E14 who did me in. Cried for 3 wks but mainly for Harriet & M bc they lost their precious baby. Then there’s the GHOs 🙄 and there was the two Eaglets who had a health problem & had to be removed to get medical care. Harriet & M didn’t know what to do. That broke my heart for them. The Eaglets was brought back healthy. GREAT! But we as humans just wish we could personally help these majestic creatures in their time of need but all can do is watch pray & cry. It’s hard & it takes a toll - at least on me. Even fledging is BITTER sweet. I always cry when they leave 🥲. Simba did me in 🥲. So I pray Harriet is able to get back to her family & nothing awful has happened to her 🙏 In the meantime it hard watching M trying to do it all as a single parent - protecting his babies plus having to leave them helpless to get food. Federal and Local authorities like CROW, are closely monitoring the situation and will step in to help the eaglets if it should come to that, and of course will be there to help Harriet immediately if she is found injured.

Mother Nature needs to cut this poor guy some slack. He's so stressed and trying so hard to get these eaglets to fledging. I've never seen such a fast and desperate feeding. He knew he needed to get that fish fed to the E's and hope that big female would just leave. She really wants that nest. She seems pretty aware there's no female there which makes me think she is what happened to Harriet.

I think this intruder is no ordinary intruder but rather a potential partner whos trying to win M15's heart. She must have been observing the situation and noticed no female in the nest so she decided to try her luck. M15 also doesn't seem to be very aggressive with her. Of course he pushed her out because she's considered an intruder at this point but she did not go far and stayed at the upper branch. Eventually M15 will give in and accept her as his new wife. Let's let the nature take its course.

From what I understand, Harriet was fine before she flew away and then disappeared (she was vocalising at an intruder, at the time). Not everybody is convinced that it was a fishing line.

All the eagles look distressed. I suppose that the female intruder has also lost her mate and nest this season, but is still driven by hormone and instinct to find another nest and a mate. She is doing her best to give M15 the correct signals - she seems to be trying to disarm him with head lowered in submission, but he seems equally driven to protect his youngsters and wait for Harriet. Anguish for all eagles untill this season is over.

When I was watching the same event earlier today, I felt the same way only because it wasn’t vicious and she sort of invited her self on to the nest without a nasty altercation. And then M 15 just sort of move towards her and pushed her off the nest w/o serious attack. Is this why you think this was a female? If not, what is your reasoning?

Yes, many of the behaviors you noted could be indicatve of a female intruder. I usually listen to their vocals as well and sounded like a female to me. Of course, no way to know for sure.

They have certainly made a come back, after DDT ans over-hunting (farmers were killing them because they were a threat to their livestock). I was reading somewhere that, in Florida, there are an estimated 1500 pairs! There has been a mini-invasion in NE Florida too, this season - quite a few visitors converged on an area where another nest is and where the male went missing in November!

MARVEL is a very FITTING dad name, more RESPECTFUL than M. Marvel's a SEASONED VETERAN stating although ALLOWED to BRANCH approaching the NEST requires BATTLE, SHE was larger but I got more of a LONGING feeling from her rather than aggression. Marvel has to BALANCE risky fighting and injury over nest security and he's still a BEAST.

Please notice the visiting eagle needs a bath. You can tell that M15 and Harriet didn't raise that eagle. Remember FV's dirty tail and then when Harriet showed M15 how to take a bath... I have pictures of that. So, if this eagle is a girl, she won't be a good mother replacement for Harriet and M15 knows it. He's not ready anyway.

If anybody thinks these 2 eaglets are out of danger or out of the woods because M15 is doing a great job of bringing in prey, you're wrong. This is the danger of having only 1 parent. When M15 leaves the nest to hunt those 2 eaglets are vulnerable as hell from an intruder coming in while M15 is gone. Let's hope that never happens.
