What a horrible ending to such a BEAUTIFUL day they all enjoyed. Food a-plenty, reconnecting and bonding. The whole family together. This is just awful. I've (we've) had so many high-highs and low-lows on this nest. It's been an emotional roller-coaster, very stressful. I saw the E's sitting side by side in the attic and made a comment about the owl surely not striking them both. And then, it happened. I wish I was able not to let it get to me, as some are apparently able to do. I never had children, so I have not been acclimated to inevitable illnesses/mishaps that happen as children grow up. I'm thinking it's time for me just to read the video titles, and maybe descriptions, and forego looking at the images...

It's okay too to know our limitations. Like, I don't watch the "bonking" as many call it. Some enjoy it, get a kick out of it and others, like me, hate it. We're all different in our sensitivities and perceptions. I don't like the E's fighting either... Some prey brought to the nest, I won't watch as well. You do you! We know watching these live bird cams does have it ALL = the good, the bad and the ugly! 😂 I've laughed at things we see and cried over others... Ultimately, the beauty we see far outweighs the horrors, so I keep watching... ~It sure has been a roller coaster season! You stated it perfectly re the "high-highs and low-lows"! Ironically, today, they all had such a wonderful day - to have it end like this is incredibly sad indeed. Hugs to you and to your wonderful heart. The owls were checking the nest out a day or so ago, so indeed, they want the nest. As bad as the owl attacks are, both E21 and E22 stayed away from the nest tree after both were attacked a few days ago, but returned to roost. Hopefully, they will learn after these latest attacks to roost away from the nest tree at nighttime before they are seriously injured or killed.

They already have a nest and have been raising babies in it. They have no interest in this nest other than to chase eagles out of the territory because owls view the eagles as a threat to their chicks. The owls checking out the nest the other day were owlets just fledging. They are too young to reproduce and have no interest in taking the nest over. They were there exploring.

The crazy thing the 2nd nest that those 🤬🦉's are living in was Harriet & M's Nest #2. They just kinda took it ova. Now they want this one 2 With Harriet there in the past those PITA Owls would come by 4 awhile then go take care of their Lil owls. I do hope our E's are ok. Wondering if "M" will come back to the Nest in the Fall. With Our Beloved Harriet gone and all that he had 2 endure will he nest elsewhere. All I do know that this surely is M & Harriet's last time having the World's Most Cutest Smartest Eaglets. They both have been thru a lot in the small amount of time since bein hatched. E21-E22 are Warriors just like their Mom and Dad so we will always honor them. We'll have 2 look up in the Florida Sky and one day if we're lucky we might just see them. This is my hope and my prayer for "M"-15, E-21 E-22

FYI to anyone unsure of where E22 now is = Looking via Cam3 - look right under nest. Look down the trunk just a little bit. See 1st small, short pointy branch jutting out to the left? E22 is right there, to the right, behind their nest tree trunk, bless him. LH Shortly After the 2nd hit on E21, 21appeared to have averted a 3rd strike. Head quickly snapped and a possible mantle type position.. I would rather see the E's sleep on a tree, w/ well covered branches, and no access for the owls to get at them, than sleep on the wide open nest tree, where they might get hurt...It's nature, but it sucks for the E's..🙏🙏 for their safety for the rest of the night...Goodnight , Hope you're feeling better..TY Lady Hawk 💖/SWFEC/Pritchett Family & DPRE❤❤❤

I just don't get it! I know they want to protect their babies. From what I've seen, the owl nest with babies aren't too far away from E21 & E22. But, there is something off with this owl! The eagles aren't stalking or attacking! I don't want them to go, but hope they truly fledge soon! Someone is gonna get hurt and as much as I love owls, it best not be those eagle babies who get hurt! Where is M when you need him!

@@DLionheart Yes, the owlets have fledged but just like the eaglets they are still around flying at night in the same territory. That's why the owl parents are still very protective of them. I believe I saw an owlet land on the of the trees close to the eagle nest last night.

I think the Babies need to sleep flat in the nest. Also they should try to bite and knock the owl away. This owl is a bully. These eagles have done nothing to deserve this. zwhere is M sleeping that he does not hear them nor know what is going on? It almost looked like a cartoon! The owl hits E21 off from one direction, then comes back around and hits E22 from the other. I was worried about E22 afterwards. I could hear his soft vocals for quite a long time afterwards. Thanks for capturing Lady Hawk ❤️

@@jaredmacbride721 You are an AH. This nesf was originally built by M15 and Harriet as a second nest for their fledgling that came back and was afraid to leave. They continued to feed their baby until she felt comfortable to leave. These owls stole the nest. M 15 is entitled to two nests if he wants it. Eagle territory is normally 5 miles or more apart. It is obvious you have not followed this nest nor love nor care about these eagles. You should not comment on things you know nothing about. I have seen videos of officials building new nests for eagles and raptors that were in danger of being killed. Sometimes they have to be helped to preserve the species. There are thousands of people who love this eagle family. Sadly you are not one of them. This was Harriet’s last clutch as she disappeared. zThere are no more like her. I used to volunteer with wildlife rescue. Interfering and saving lives is what we do. M15 is special and I love him and birds more than most humans. These owls are bullies and very bad. They have to go!

They would take turns doing dives right by its head. After about 10 minutes of this, that nasty ole' owl finally flew off. My thought on this is the owl was out robbing eggs, young ones..😮

It is heartbreaking to witness this. I want to look at it as lessons of living in the wild for these youngsters survival. When they fledge they are going to be prepared. Attacking them in the dark, when they are asleep, is so frustrating...poor babies, their crying and squees break my heart. I just hope that the owls are not using their talons or beaks...
