Your KZbin videos have been so helpful. Have you ever dine a video on installing a Chainlink fence with a large on the perimeter? I need some help. At this point I plan to put terminal posts on both sides of the tre following the fence line. Then I plan to put a low tension piece of Chainlink between the terminal posts to as low for some growth

I'm going to delete your other 3 identical comments. Don't be offended. 😉 Yes, if you're turning a corner you would use a terminal post at the corner and consider that a new run. 👍🏻

I'm not offended, I just wasn't sure where you'd see the comment, and wanted to be sure to reach you. I didn't think wrapping the fabric around the corner terminal post would be good, I was thinking of just ending it and starting it again on the other side. Thank you. Really enjoy your videos, I've watched it at least 20 times and took good notes and have all the equipment I need, now I'm digging my wholes, by hand to save money, old dogs can learn new tricks! I'm a Granny. I've already got my first Terminator post in and am starting the next. I'll put the line posts in after I have the corner posts in. Last my gate! Yea!!!! Thank you!

I need a gate this exact size. I have an older 15ft long dog run and the door opens into my fence in back yard and I want to cut out a portion about 2 ft x 2ft and turn it into a gate so my chickens can get into the fenced back yard and roam free-ish, lol. I want to be able to open and close it with the standard gate latch to help keep them safe too. I think I can get the gist on what I need to do from this video but do you or does anyone else have any suggestions?

Hello, I’d like to ask for your advice. I have a fence with 19 terminal posts in a straight line. The terminal posts are 2-3/8” inches and 6ft tall above the ground. They are embedded 24 inches down in concrete. Approximately 15 of these posts are not plumb. They are slightly not level. Approximately 5 degrees off. I have a top rail going. I have also a top rail bar that is tension banded between all of these posts. My worry is that over time the terminal posts will continue to tilt. Should I correct them now or is it not worth the effort? What kind of lifespan can I expect if they are going to continue to tilt? Thank you in advanced.

We are enjoying your videos. Can a gauge 9 twist tool work with the 11gauge easy twist tie? I ask because I bought 1 today in Toronto and it has the number 9 on it although I asked them for an 11gauge tool. I am heading to the Caribbean at the end of this month to do our own fence. Thanks to your videos.
@SWiFence
@SWiFence 9 ай бұрын
If it does work (I'm not real confident that it will) the wraps won't be as tight, which will make for a sloppy tie.

Dan, Over the long term and even the short term the Dewalt battery drill will smoke with the twist ties I found. Twist ties work great. I presently use corded Bosch 8.5 amp hammer drill on drill mode. Would welcome a battery drill which would not smoke. Thoughts? Thank you!
@SWiFence
@SWiFence Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, that's interesting, so I will share some history with you. We have never had a drill smoke, but we have had the 1/4" impacts smoke just from use and getting hot, this was often in impacts that had brushes. As soon as they came out with brushless motors our problems stayed in the past and have not come up since. As far as tying ties, we never had a drill smoke no matter how many ties we put through it. Dont forget its best to have the drill on the lowest speed. Hope this helps.

Snip your post free from the fence. Dig out the concrete (the least fun part of the job). Reset new post in concrete. Reattach.

Is there a decrepancy as to if the chainlink is behind the post or in front of post to tell who owns fence. My neighbor removed mine by this theory.
@SWiFence
@SWiFence Жыл бұрын
Like you see here, fabric is typically on the outside, and all nuts and bolts are on the inside--the secure side of the fence. However, this isn't really a great way to tell who owns a fence because whoever installed it could've done it differently. The only real way to know is to look at your property line. If it's on your property, it's your fence.
@sassafrasvalley1939
@sassafrasvalley1939 Жыл бұрын
Dan, did you mention that you also need fence fabric? I know you referenced it several times but… you know me… I’m a literal kind of guy. If I made a list of all the things you specifically named as ‘necessities’ and you didn’t tell me to make sure I had fence fabric… I might have trouble keeping my neighbors goats out of my garden… once I got it built! I may have just missed it… so please pardon me while I watch it again and check my list to make sure I didn’t miss anything else! PS: about those straws… paper or plastic?
@SWiFence
@SWiFence Жыл бұрын
Fabric is optional. That's really only for "fancy-schmancy" neighborhoods. Otherwise a nice, neat system of posts and rails should do the trick. It also saves you the trouble of having to walk around to the gate every time you want to enter or exit. 😁
