The Swift 5 needs the 4800u and then it might be the perfect thin and light laptop. A nice 1080p IPS touchscreen, great build and Ryzen 4000 series CPU would make this perfect. Also chuck in a dedicated GPU. Not sure which one. The Vega graphics will be good, but not a good as something dedicated.

thank for the review! about the nvidia GPU - in my opinion, if you don't need it, don't take it. mx250 is medicore at best(comparing to the high-end gpus), but it will add a few hundred grams to your laptop, and will shorten your battrery life. if you don't need a dedicated gpu - don't buy one.

Yep it is - that's what I'm using right now. Swift 5 with 16GB ram, 1TB SDD, MX350 with 2GB dedicated ram. Got it from the Acer UK webstore.

Er, Natalia you're wrong about the Swift 5 specs. The one I'm typing on right now has BOTH Intel Iris Plus and Nvidia MX350 with 2GB dedicated video ram. And my Swift 5 has a 1TB M2 SSD... As for charging via USB-C Thunderbolt it doesn't supply enough power when the Nvidia card is in use (I'm using a HP Thunderbolt G2 120W hub).

@@davendano Probably right, but the 2019 models I was looking at in Nov 2019 had the same 1TB SSD and the older Nvidia MX250 GPU. And that was before this video was released...

Swift comes with LPDDr4 which is not the DDR4 that IdeaPad has, there is fingerprint unlock, better temperature management and the service is way way better. One advantage of plastic body is that it doesnt get as hot as metal. DDR4 is twice or thrice as fast as LPDDR4. I had an acer long back. Threw it. I bought a Flex 5 with 72% sRGB which I almost tge most perfect one can have compared to 45% of sRGB which Acer Swift has !!! I use my flex 5 as a book at night and it also has a backlit keyboard.

@@abc_cba very interesting indeed, thanks for your insight... it would ultimately depends on the usage, low powered DDR4 is fine for my usage, as it used only for office productivity (LPDDR draws less power so it will prolong battery life). The swift 3 weight is only 1.2kg which is beneficial for remote working... and i don't mind the thickness, i mean i've seen more sleek and thinner laptop, but they tend to have problem after 3-5 years of usage (my samsung series 9 which is so thin and beautiful, but now it has webcam problem, battery drop, dead backlit, and so on) Im currently not interested in tablet mode... but i have to admit lenovo have great marketing and pricing for their mid-entry level laptops, especially with mobile Ryzen processor. It would be a different topic if we discuss gaming, all notebooks are bad for gaming.
