Swift Pleasure - BushcraftGirl sailing Grabner HappyCat Hurricane. Moderate wind. Furling Booster.

The Grabner HappyCat Hurricane is FAST. Even without the Furling Booster I was getting 10kts of boatspeed out of 12kts of wind. I was fastest thing on the water except for Musto Skiffs and foiling Moths using their huge gennaker sails. You can sail this thing standing up with one hand! About an hour from landing to driving away if you just go steady. Can be quicker but that seems to be about normal.

Enjoy the craft, I know you are on a lake. But show everyone your safety item that are on you if you should fall off. ( not expecting safety line harness but normal precautions)

Do you mean the pfd, and wetsuit as well as full wetsuit that I talked about in the video? I always dress for the swim. Same as with whitewater. 👍 Hot drink, also important. Did you mean I should maybe show the rescue items in the keg again? I showed it so often I think maybe people get bored. GPS Satellite Rescue tracker, flashlight, first aid kit, space blanket, stuff to start a fire, compass, tools. I could show this again next time. Thanks for the suggestion. 😊

@@tedsemonis7905 Neoprene and pfd and my satellite distress beacon. Cell phone and 50 euros for the taxi. I can swim to shore from the middle of this lake but I might be injured. So I take the waterproof phone and the sat beacon. Always wear a pfd and neoprene when sailing in fresh weather! I actually wear a leash or use a trapeze from 5bft. This boat is neat though. It has plenty of weather helm so if you fall off it turns into the wind and stops. Very handy and designed that way by the makers. Very relaxed sailing.

'''''''' Your sailing along look to the side, wind picks up and " lower the boom " now you are in water. person rescue items that never leave you / mirror , whistle, strobe ..... you can swim , float or freeze. Just asking ???????????

Ted Semonis - waterproof cellphone, satellite rescue beacon. Whistle is always attached. Sometimes also a mylar emergency survival bag, made out of spaceblanket material. Even in cold water you can get inside it and it helps with the hypothermia. A bit. No strobe on tiny inland lake. Offshore I have strobe, day and night flares, a mirror. And MOST important, offshore and on the lake, someone always knows where I am, my intended course, and when I am expected to arrive. This boat just turns into the wind and stops. I have a climb line so I can get back on even if injured (unable to use an arm or a leg). It doesn’t have a boom so very difficult to get concussed.
