Alpine 2! - I've been looking forward to you reviewing this one as I'm 99% decided on this model. Always appreciate your videos - honest, no nonsense, down to earth, reviews. Other than saving up I'm sold on this one and glad to hear your opinion on it.

Well i think its decent and you could look at the Xplore 422 end kitchen / Bailey Phoenix 2 but reckon Sprite still holds the value key and thank you for the comments just try and do a honest review no fancy stuff etc hope you get your Alpine and let me know how it goes - thank you for watching

Andy, I enjoy your reviews, but find myself cutting off half-way through because of your camera. It suffers from a bad dose of rolling shutter, or what some call 'jello'. As a professional videographer, please allow me to suggest try one of the following solutions. 1) If you are filming in 4K, film in 1080p (HD). The rolling shutter effect is depending on the camera, particularly pronounced when you film in 4K. 2) put the camera on a tripod (a small one you can place on top of counters etc. is useful) and get fixed shots. If you pan, do it slowly. This will help a lot. 3) If you must handheld (and circumstances often dictate that you need to), stand still with your elbows tucked in and don't move the camera at all. If your camera allows, I also suggest getting a wider lens (too wide or too cheap and you will make straight lines curved) or get a wide-angle attachment. I would suggest using something akin to a selfie-stick to put the camera further away from yourself to achieve the same thing, but that would introduce more severe wobble which would make the rolling-shutter even worse. I hope I do not offend, but your comment in one of your more recent videos about the little views you get and that you would like more is in the back of my mind. Instead of just complaining, I have endeavoured to provide solutions that don't cost money or very little at least. I hope it helps. For those that are interested, rolling shutter is a technical term and is a particular bane of CMOS sensors.

Hi Andy, yeah The Sprite Alpine 2 is a really nice van. The front lounge reminds me of the seats in the Xplore 422 but the cabinets are more upmarket in design in the Sprite. Not a big fan myself of sunroofs as I think the Heki roof windows do just as good a job as we found with the Xplore 554 but in fairness they do make a van a bit more modern. Good kitchen layout too but I did think the washroom was a bit dark despite having a side window. The price of vans are creeping into the unaffordable zone now for the average buyer so I think the used market is going to stay on the upward trend too. Enjoy your lighthearted review style as always Andy.

Hi Kevin - thanks for your comments on this video - and yes the loo is a tad dark a roof vent in the shower cubicle would be good. I agree on prices its going mad and there is a slowdown in new sales but used prices look to be holding firm - family models with bunks are in demand - I met a subscriber yesterday who was looking to replace his trailer tent for a tourer. I found him a Xplore 556 which he quite liked. Thanks for the kind words as usual Kevin my regards to your good lady too

Hi Andy as i may of said before, i have the Alpine 2 2008 Diamond Jubilee Edition, not sure if its any different to the standard model, but on mine opposite the kitchen where there is that hole, sorry shelf, i have a draw which i have a full sized Knife fork spoon tray in there like in my kitchen at home, to me the hole is just a cop out and it should be a draw. Also not sure if it is standard, but mine is carpeted which makes a difference in colder months when using it, i think anyway, but maybe it was done by a previous owner, but if it was it looks a very professional job and a very good quality carpet. If i can afford it in another few years id like to upgrade to another Alpine 2. I think mine is a cracking van and still look fairly modern inside, had it coming up 2 years and been away 66 nights in it, so it gets used a lot! One gripe is the Thetford fidge, it has a bloody blue light on it and in the dark the tiny light is like a Search light from WW2 looking for German Bombers! But ill forgive it that as its a great Caravan and for very little money i paid!

Always a great and class leading 2 berth that against competitors is very good value though all todays new prices have got a little silly. Bought this new in 2007 and it slaughtered the competition including badges above it as it was so contemporary then being way ahead of its stable mates especially on the exterior design at the time and other brands badges.

Kept it for 11.5 years and part-ex towards new Major 4SB in early 2019. Was like new inside with exterior not looking dated as it led the way with others following it’s contemporary aero dynamic look over the very old fashioned very dated way they all used to be! @@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk
