@@fanreader7847 I think she just didn't want to pass up that opportunity. It's not everyday ppl want to make a tv show about you. So she thought she could do both and ended up being in way over her head. Had she stayed at NYADA, she would've had opportunities to see if she's more into stage performance or tv acting. I love Rachel, but she needed this wake up call to find out that she's talented, but she's not as ready for the real world as she thinks she is. She needs NYADA so that can help her grow in a way Mr. Schue never could.

@@CarolineForbesAndTaylorSwift How about a simpler explanation. The writers cooked up the last arc because Monteith death ruined their entire plan for the ending. The original plan has nothing to do with NYADA or Television, they even spelled it out in season 5 episode 3. Rachel was going to be successful on Broadway, she might have some failures but not this big. And after she achieved her dream through any means, she comes home with Finn running the New Directions.

Cory's death has nothing to do with glee's writing. This show was terrible, we just watched cause we were teenagers. About Rachel: are you really that surprised? she was ALWAYS like this. She even said in the pilot that she wanted to be famous no matter what.

Though I agree that the writing was bad and mediocre (at least compared to S1-3) and Rachel made stupid decision but why would you use/blame the death of someone else to put another thing down. I think that insensitive and just...stupid. Also Rachel is suppose to have flaws. Its part of character development especially when the character is in a new and unknown settings. The character has to fail big to make them/story interesting, intense and real. This also makes the character growth so much satisfying.

She could've at least stayed for a few more months on Broadway at least before she considered any other option, then she may have had some security but....why didn't she think this through???

She was so wrapped up in her talent she assumed it'd always give her a safe landing, that no matter how many projects she abandoned, or how many bad decisions she made, she'd come out on top because she's a "star". That's what Miss Tibideaux was trying to warn her about in NYADA. That she has no foundation set up, she's impulsive and doesn't think things through- or even how it affects everyone around her. As long as she had a spotlight on her, it's all that mattered. So when an even bigger opportunity showed up, she jumped without a parachute and it came back to bite her in the ass- hard.

She should've stayed and Graduated NYADA before even thinking about going on Broadway or that TV show. Carmen Tibidaeux said that she was talented (which I agree) but she lacks foundation (which I also agree). Staying on and graduating NYADA would have given her foundation AND training; which EVERY actor/actress (talented or untalented) NEEDS in order to get anywhere in today's acting industry because it shows that you are dedicated and committed to acting and aren't likely to impulsively do things that'll wreck your career. Both Carmen Tibidaeux and Cassandra July both warned her that she isn't ready for broadway, but instead of listening, Rachel thought that both of them (especially Cassandra) were trying to jeopardise her career when they were ACTUALLY trying to help her but she didn't believe them because they didn't mollycoddle and praise her like almost everyone around her was. They told it like it is so she saw them as bullies when actually they were trying to give her a well-needed wake up call. Rachel's behaviour throughout the season, especially in NYADA, acting like she was better than EVERYONE around her is a key tell that if it was the real world, she would NOT have lasted five seconds in the acting industry because of this. From season 1 it is shown that Rachel is this ruthless and somewhat psychotic theatre kid who will do anything to be in the spotlight whether it is: Sending another talented singer to a crackhouse (causing this girl to leave the school and join Vocal Adrenaline) Showing a lack of interest or care in ANY of her friends' or boyfriends' interests, trying to stop Finn from rejoining the Football Team despite it being his passion Using Quinn as a "honeytrap" to see if Finn would keep faithful to her if he re-joined the football team. Trying to lose her virginity to Finn PURELY for the purpose of having more accuracy in playing Maria in West Side Story (as she claims that Maria is in her sexual awakening during the musical) Throwing at tantrum WHENEVER she didn't get a solo. Playing the victim MULTIPLE TIMES when she was clearly in the wrong. Doing a "silent protest", claiming that Will was "silencing her talent" for not giving her the solo she wanted. Actually leaving the Glee Club to play the lead in the School Musical Sue and Sandy had set up because she felt that Will was "punishing" and "hurting" her when he gave a solo to Tina instead of her. Developing an obsessive crush on Will to the point where she goes to his house and cooks and cleans for him like she's his wife (when he was already married and she was a minor) Getting angry and throwing a hissy fit when Santana auditioned to be her Understudy and getting mad at Kurt when he defended Santana instead of her. Telling Finn that Puck was actually the father of Quinn's baby when it wasn't her place to do so. Trying to prove that she was better than her teacher Cassandra despite having no training. Stormed out of the rehearsal room at Glee whenever she didn't get what she wanted. Inadvertently causing Quinn to end up in a Car Accident. Getting together with Puck to make Finn jealous. Making out with Puck after she found out Finn lost his virginity to Santana, to make Finn jealous. Basically using and manipulating anyone around her and making their lives hell if they didn't do what she wanted. Actually rigging the practice room with microphones to find out which Glee Members weren't pulling their weight. Leaving NYADA because she thought that she was "better" and could make it in the theatre industry without finishing her education there. Leaving Funny Girl to star in her own TV show. This is just a few of the things she did, I'm sure there are more, but these are key tells that as a character she isn't just part of the "theatre kid" trope, but also the "unpopular mean girl' trope because her behaviour; and that if she was a real person she would have NOT made it in Broadway or in ANY kind of acting industry, let alone winning a TONY award.

​@@Mr0011011 Nobody on the show did anything successful since the show ended. Even Gwyneth Paltrow can't surpass her peak. The people on the show are only popular because of the show, the public fell in love with the characters, not the singers. They can sing, but the public wants the characters singing, in the show, they sing songs from decades ago, telling their stories through those songs. Talent of the people Glee shined because they were singing songs from another time, majority of their songs are covers of classics in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, which are superior to any songs today because those songs have withstood the test of time. The Glee Cast revived those songs and showcase their meaning in context. Without the context, and without really good songs in the past, there's nothing they can do. Even Freddie Mercury is only as good as his songs, that explains why his solo never took off as good as Queen. And with the current change in trend, gotten worse but it's still change, there's little place for talent like in Glee.

Damn. You were quite invested in these fictional characters huh? So am I. Not like I used to be but 10 years ago I would schedule my life around the new episodes of glee. It was never the same after Corey passed. Also, I would have to disagree. Karma/society rarely punishes bratty spoiled girls like Rachel Berry when they are white or white passing and know the right asses to kiss. Like her or love her, Lea Michele knows how to play the game and who to keep close. Ryan Murphy will let this all blow over with Lea and when she really needs a job, he will write a brilliant role for her, just like he did with glee.

Lea Michele is a real person that Is rumored to be hard to work with and rude to everyone. That might make her bitch but it’s not racism. People are capable of growth as well. The fact that people (like me) enjoyed seeing Rachel fail shows what a terrible main character she was. Rachel was a selfish, arrogant, entitled brat who was spoiled and over fed with praise. Someone who would stoop as low as to send someone to a crack house to keep the spotlight to herself and not hesitate to throw her ‘friends’ under the bus with a smile if it meant all attention was on her and then face zero consequences of her selfish actions. How can the writers expect audiences to watch and root for a character like that to get her happily ever after? This scene, when Will yelled at her (for once) about being a ‘lousy sport’, choking her NYADA audition, Cassandra putting her through the ringer, Carmen shouting at her when she asked for special treatment and when her boss ripped her apart and told her he tried so hard to get her fired for lying to him when she was doing Funny Girl are some of the most satisfying parts of Glee for me! Then after all that she still gets her happily ever after in the finale, married, a Broadway star and a Tony. If she was in any other show she’d be the villain!
