A lot of people seem to dislike Melissa in this which is a total surprise to me. This is one of the most memorable performances from Season 4 for me (that's not saying much). But even from the whole series, this is one of my faves. I think they both sound great. It was very similar to the 'Maybe This Time' duet between Lea and K Chen

I think that Rachel has more vocal technique than Marley. She has a higher register and more vocal agility. However, Marley has a warmer, softer and sweeter voice than Rachel. Listening her is much more "comfortable" than listening Rachel, who always sounds the same.

The SECOND I saw her on that show i was like OMG WHO IS THAT?! I instantly fell in love with her....and then i heard her sing this and i became forever hopelessly devoted to Melissa Benoist as a fan. I was running through KZbin for Melissa Benoist and hit upon this early version of New York State...……. Lea is great but Melissa, OMG. Her range and earthy tones were magnificent and genuine. Lea seemed to be pushing to sound like Barbara Streisand, rather creating her own style. Again, don't get me wrong, Lea has a rich tone and is wonderful. Of the two I think Melissa has the better all-round talent. Her acting ability and expressions are certainly better. Joanna Wong This is what I hate about those who bash on Melissa. You guys say she's so bad and all this other bs and then use the old "just an opinion". First off, why do you feel the need to bash on someone? Just because it's an opinion doesn't mean it isn't rude. Plus, we never asked for it :L . Second, to say she's bad... is dumb... you know it... Clearly the girl has talent. I could see if you said you didn't like her voice, but once again, I don't know why you feel such a need to say that.

I love this cover so much. It really bothered me they didn't meet or share more songs. I bet their characters would've had a great dynamic. Rachel teaching Marley to be more ambitious and deal with bullies as she had to do with Quinn in season 1.

I also find it odd how when Marley was around on the show everyone hated her and now reading the comments it seems like more people like her when shes off the show. I will never understand the Glee audience, ever.

Mega Mawn I've never liked Marley, but I mostly blame the writers for writing her character so poorly from the get-go. I want nothing more than for Melissa to succeed.
