I love this scene... One of Glee's best. We see a straight couple and a gay couple losing their virginities together with parallel scenes, showing both are equally beautiful and meaningful. Then we have the two performers singing a love song with cuts to their respective real-life lovers. It's so uniquely and beautifully done.

Lea is perfect for this role. I'm not so sure about Darren. He's incredibly talented, but I don't think his voice is quite right for Tony. He doesn't have that really rich classic musical theatre tenor sound that Tony requires.

Honestly I think Darren has an amazing voice, no duh, but yeah, not good for classic productions like this. You could really say the same for Lea. Both have voices fit for pop music while Maria is a very operatic role. She actually auditioned for the Broadway revival and clearly didn't get it seeing as she was able to do glee, and was devastated, but to me that was a fair trade.
