First time I heard this lick was in Freddie King's cover of That's Alright from Live at the Electric Ballroom. There are some excellent acoustic (Texas) blues licks there that would be great for a video breakdown *wink wink* *nugde nudge*

This lick is in the solo section of Freddie King's acoustic version of Dust my Broom, and the lick is played over V, and correspondingly over the IV with a turnaround!

Wouldn't be at all surprised if that's where he picked it up. I've certainly heard it a lot, which is why it grabbed my ear. It's just one of those important, classic licks that all the greats use. Thanks for letting me know, I'll be checking out that tune as well!

In the Gary Clarke Jr/ Jimmie Vaughn video- right before they play this lick they hit one chord several times. I think it's an E. Does anybody know exactly what they're doing?
@sameerchaudhary4655 жыл бұрын
Hi I've just started learning blues and I'm confused whether you should do vibrato on 2nd string (B) downwards or upwards? I've seen many people say upwards but I see +swiftlessons do it downwards and I myself do it downwards. Someone pls help me out here lol
@swiftlessons5 жыл бұрын
It’s really a matter of preference. The vibrato is one of the main techniques that makes your playing unique. Everyone’s is slightly different, and then there’s guys like BB King and Clapton who have developed a truly innovative approach that’s difficult to imitate
