We definitely spent way more than 40 dollars per person on merch. A lot of us spent a couple of hundreds on merch in the venue alone. That's not counting what we have bought online.

I started in the concert business last summer. The scale of what it takes to make a big show happen blew my mind. I can’t even rap my head around what it takes to do a Swift show. As for the $40 per attendant merch spend… that sounds low to me. I could be wrong but at a concert $40 will get you a nice ball cap at a show. I’m happy for her. It sounds like she stakes good care of her people behind the scenes.

Yes some like Taylor Swift are very charitable, which deserves our gratitude. Let's also remember that in a music industry where a handful make 90% of all the money, and the rest of musicians make less than minimum wage, that those top earners have to do 90% of the charity giving too! That means those few should be giving millions to help others.

14% per night is an underestimation. Taylor’s a 100% in-house operation, she founds her own production, management etc. there’s not a lot of characters to share revenue with.
