Still absolutely love this toy. Such a cool design and the fact its IDW based is just icing on the cake. Hasbro's coming with Minimus was also just fantastic. Ended up buying both versions.

Yep, and it was $45 instead of the $90 Hasbro's charging for Ultra Magnus these days.

Got both as well, but also managed to acquire a bootleg of the 3rd party cab add-on, which I installed on the Hasbro one, then Minimus pilots the Taktomy one, and finally Alpha Trion is chillin' with the rest of my Minicons and Micromasters. 😅😅😅

If they'd ever release a IDW comic version of Magnus in the Legacy line it should just be this figure with a more comic accurate truck cab. Seriously, even after 8 years this figure is an absolute unit. A true masterpiece.

He was way ahead of his time... Literally the best choice for over a decade until the Studio Series one came out. And I still prefer this one.

I first had the Hasbro Combiner Wars version, but bought this too cuz of the better colors. Eventually sold the Combiner Wars version.

There are many cool things about this toy. First of, it's always nice to see Magnus not being white Optimus with armor. Then there's the way the truck cabin integrates into the chest instead of just hanging as a backpack. And the nod to Animated with the hammer combination. I'm not sure Alpha Trion works as a brainmaster though. Side note: I've got to know many cool songs from your videos, so thanks for that.

The red thighs is actually accurate to the comics up to a certain point, the shift happened during Megatron's trial.

Never got this figure, as it felt very simplified, and hollow, but looking at it now since getting back into collecting this actually does quite a few things better than the Siege release. No Core Robot, and no parts forming is very impressive to see. Also the storage compartment is actually usable unlike either Siege or Earthrise. Engineering is very close to the 86 Commander Class though simpler amounting to less articulation. Not sure why Alpha Trion is piloting him, but other that very cool iteration of Ultra Magnus.

Cool figure, but I feel like there are way too many hollow parts across it. On the plus side, it looks good overall, and I like how more iterations of Ultra Magnus use the idea of Animated of giving him a big badass hammer as a weapon (I never grew much on G1, so I don't know if the idea existed even back then). Anyway, thank you for another great video, Touch Toys, keep up the good work!😊.

I had Ultra Magnus, but it's bad and low quality, and also cheap. The color was green and orange, instead of white and blue 😂 So, it's so satisfying seeing your video A proof of money has to do with which quality of the toy 😅

The price was about $5, and the only good side from the toys was, the chest was made from some iron, while other parts was cheap plastic 😅 It's hard to find proper and good toys here, bro. I mean, in my city, Muara Enim, South Sumatera, Indonesia. I had try buy online, and, I had been fooled with fake photo. So, I don't want to risk another money

Does the cab separate? I actually like that the cab and trailer are only one entity (and not the G1 idea of a white Optimus inside a mech suit); however, it would be a shame if the cab couldn't park it's trailer.

It's held in place with a screw, but it can be removed to make the cab separate.

This is why I could not get behind Siege and ESPECIALLY Kingdom Magnus. Because this was such a good package. I only wish I haven't been addicted to post-Siege-quality plastic or the old 2013-2014 plastic wouldn't bug me as much, coz only 86 Magnus manages to outdo this, and that's high praise for this guy.

eBay or an equivalent site is probably your best bet, it's an older figure and Japan-exclusive There's also the Combiner Wars version but that has a different deco, the coloring is closer to the original G1 toy than the G1 cartoon
