I went through the SAME problem finding an active DP adapter to run eyefinity. I got a dumbfounded look from everyone I asked. I was even told that it didn't exist and when I explained to the OWNER of a local computer store that they did exist and even offered to send him a link to one online he called me a liar and said that I needed to stop prank calling him.

@Trillios No. That is not true. It extends the field of your vision essentially by two screens. Yes, it is indeed one screen but it does not just stretch the current veiw. If it did so, thinking rationally, how would it work? Notice how at 5:45 onwards the screen is displaying a larger field of veiw. Research before commenting. :) ILY Swifty.

Also, it is true 1 CF-bridge works, but 2 is beter if you want full bandwidth.. The HD58xx series need both of them fitted, whereas the HD57xx series don't need both of them, because they don't need the larger bandwidth as the chips aren't powerful enough.

I'm actually trying to look into doing this with my machine as well. I'll be using smaller monitors (24") but it should give me a similar experience. The monitors that I'd buy are LED and are $200/each. So with cutting down on the size of the monitor and possibly doing a couple extra upgrades.. someone with a decent job could get eyefinity. Looking forward to setting some money aside for this.

@zzd00medzz its basicaly one large screen (if you have 3 monitors the one to the left would be the left part on what your regular screen would be and the middle screen = middle of you normal screen) it is kinda hard to explain

You need to use an "Active Adapter" for your DSP port. active displayport adapters use USB to power the adapter ;) regular adapters don't work if you want to use eyefinity on an HD5xxx series card. The new HD6xxx however does support passive mini-DP to any other form adapters. It's not very strange they don't sell these cables though, they are like 100 dollars each.. And i can't imagine a lot of people walking in the store and ask for 'active DP-adapters' :D

@swatkiller00 I watched that vid again and the only white swings I saw wer right wen he started bladestorming which was a normal swing and just happened to go off when he started the BS. The second white swing happened exactly as he stoped spinning which means he just hit another time instantly after coming out of the BS.

Had to fav. How gaming should be! Anyways, that Bladestorm thing is old, no? I always got autoattacks off during bladestorm, no need to buttonsmash the macro, unless you stop autoattacking while switching targets. Also, is target a computer shop? The only trustworthy "computer" shops I know have like 99% of their stuff in the back but those stores looked like an online ad showing a wide range of hardware..

@johnsju You will rarely find what you need in stores, Just order it online If newegg doesnt have it there are more expensive places you can get it, usually Stores you go to are more expensive and dont have exatly what you want or a wide verioty, its a waste of time and gas and the difference in price.

I was lucky enough to get an active display port adapter with my 6990. I was actually kinda worried. I know Newegg has them, but that would take like 2-5 days, and Fry's is like 20 miles away and might not carry them..

God damn. There really is a difference using EyeFinity. I blasted EF in the past because it looked so unnatural that you almost get eye strain from that much monitor real estate, but now I know why. It's because the 2 side screens are stretched! With the correct perspective now it's like having 3 times the fun. Too bad in Wings of Prey you still needed another row of 3 monitors on top for full effect. :P
