I have just ordered a Swiftly scooter for my 80 th birthday. I’ve wanted one for two years now, so I thought ( sod it ) my little dogs run along side, that’s why I ordered an electric one.

This is great news. My dream is for electric scooters to be legal to ride in the UK. Then I want to be able to go places by kicking down hills and on flats. I want the electric to simply assist me going up hills to make it a little bit easier and that is all. I don't even want to use the electric all the time because I love the physical exercise it offers. I also really want it so the wheels regenerate some electricity back into the battery. Love your scooters keep it up, exciting stuff!

thanks! For the UK, we're pretty sure the government won't pass the new Transport Bill before the next election in 2024. We wrote more about it in our journal if you're interested! swiftyscooters.com/blogs/journal/are-e-scooters-legal-in-the-uk-latest-news-on-micromobility-policy-2023

Great, informative video! Can't wait to learn more about the new electric SwiftyGo G500! Looks beautiful. And, yes, we love customization. 💙

Why I e-scoot? Because in this traffic jammed city I live in, without any bike lanes to speak of, there's nothing faster (maybe metro train, but only if it's a direct route), and unlike the bike, I don't need to breathe heavily all the traffic emissions and do shower at the destination. And unlike the e-bike, there are fewer components to maintain and clean, and it's easier to carry through the lift. It's easier to filter lanes than with a motorbike too. Unlike an electric moped, I don't need to worry about parking spots and security in a highly dense area (most parkings are made for cars and less for motorcycles). I can indicate turns with my legs, even easier than using hands on a bike.

YES. The heavy breathing in polluted roads is something we don't often talk about - but it's definitely a concern for cyclists and e-bikers. E-scoot with a mask and save those lungs.

Completely agree with how Camilla describes riding a swifty. Its always fun letting people have a go and can honestly say everyone let’s out a lil woohoo 😆 when they do. Its soaks up the terrain with ease. I can not wait to try out the swifty go, it looks so sturdy and I know it will be so much fun 🤗🛴💨🥰🤗

Trying the post again. Wonder what I'm doing wrong that the comment vanishes? Love everything about the Swifty Go, the battery tech, the cable disc brakes, the suspension and the carrier racks. Hope some of these also find their way onto your kick scooter range. Big question for me here in the UK is what the new legislation will be. If it matches that of e-bikes, fantastic. We need to have something that we can ride on cycle paths, footpaths and the like as well as public roads. Keep up the good work.

100%. I hope we all agree on those points, the regs in Ireland have just been passed, so fingers crossed UK aligns with that.

Great podcast, is the company still operational? I see a lot of models are sold out on the web and not much content has been uploaded recently?

What is the height of this from the top of the foot board to the top of the handlebars? Will there also be extra height handlebars available?

Sweet but please list some bike shops on the USA which will stock your scooters both the newest models & the older models please.

I think it is a mistake not to make the new Swifty Electric scooter foldable/portable, whatever the considerations you guys had in the process of designing it. How many different electric scooters (or ebikes) are out there in the market vying for consumers? MANY. Conversely, how many electric scooters with big wheels AND are foldable are there in the market? ONLY 1 - Swifty-E. I think it is wiser to improve the original Swifty-E than to come up with a new e-scooter which is not foldable/portable.

Very exciting! I totally agree that electric cars are not going to singlehandedly solve the complex problems surrounding human transportation…as with many technological shifts they will undoubtedly bring with them their own set of problems. I also agree that electric scooters to date have been poorly designed,sometime dangerously so. Having owned and ridden a Swifty Zero for nearly two years I am confident that Swifty products are of a very high quality as well as an exceedingly clever design! I don't doubt that your company will produce top of the line electric scooters. Wishing you the greatest success!

So is the newest model you're featuring here foldable or Not? Plus can we still be able to purchase the older electric version of Swifty scooters? Can you get a dual suspension scooter without the electric motor?
@SwiftyScootersTV Жыл бұрын
Hello it’s half folding yes. There is some stock of the older electric we do but it will be discontinued when stock runs out. There is plans to put the suspension into a kickscooter yes.

I think it’s very smart to focus on all of these areas where the fear and scepticism (rightly to a large extent) come from. I think Jason did a good job of convincing people (including me) who are sceptical of cable disc brakes as well. And I think the focus on storage as well is another smart move. Now it’s just a case of getting legislative approval for e-scooters to be owned and ridden in the country. No chance that anything will change under the Tories as I assume people riding scooters on the roads would be a target for them under their anti-climate and pro-motoring culture war strategy. I can’t say I’m that confident that Starmer’s right wing Labour will be keen to break the deadlock either though. Hopefully I’m wrong on that.

Thanks Chris. The progress on the 'New Transport Bill' is agonisingly slow, and I'm in agreement with you in that nothing will change until after the next election. Mark Harper (Transport Minister)'s speech last week was jaw dropping - intent on creating a culture war building up to the election. However, there are many people working on decarbonising transport within the civil service and local authorities in the UK, not just in the private sector. There's undeniable evidence drawn from the e-scooter trials that e-scooters are a popular option in the transport mix. I just don't believe the ban will continue much longer - the industry is crying out for governance!

Maximum user weight?
@safugpac2691 Жыл бұрын
150 kg like any other scooter etc Only Xootr scooters with 180 mm wheels have 800 lbs ( 363 kg ) weight limit.
@SwiftyScootersTV Жыл бұрын
@@safugpac2691 I'm not really sure about Xootrs weight limit of 363kg - I mean the small wheels and braking capabilities probably haven't gone through an actual road test or durability test for that weight.
@SwiftyScootersTV Жыл бұрын
Most likely 150kg. Most e-scooters have 100kg or 120kg. This will be confirmed at a later date.

Jason & Camilla! Long time no talk to. You're both amazing. You're both innovating... but... yes, there's always a but, where is the light-as-air 4kg Swifty Graphene Scooter you promised us? You know, the scooter that's faster than a speeding bullet and can leap over tall buildings in a single bound? OK... hyperbole aside... faster than Andrew Tate in a Boo-gah-ee behind Romanian prison bars?

Even the carbon scooter is nowhere to be seen. Forget the graphene one. Lightest 16 inch wheel scooter is 7 kg.

I don’t support EV or any other car ownership anymore. I had a couple of small EVs with small battery packs from 2016-2020. I don’t necessarily agree as far as the grid not being able to support EVs, but that’s irrelevant if I think all car ownership should end, except for a few edge cases here and there. Otherwise I agree completely that it’s all about small vehicles and small battery packs to create the best scenario for everyone and the climate.
