Brought me back memories when we used to spearfish all of those areas 1970-1976. There was a lot more fish, lobsters and carrucho back then. There used to be a huge 100 lb. cubera snapper living at the mosquito pier. Oh well, thanks for the great video. Memories...

Vicente Torres, thanks for your comment! We went back last year and there were even less fish and the reefs were still recovering from Hurricane Maria. Vieques is still one of our favorite places in the world and we look forward to going back to create many more memories of our own.

Thank you! We like snorkeling Green Beach, Playa Chiva, mosquito pier, and around the cayo off Esperanza.

Whenever we're on the island we stay at the Esperanza Inn. esperanzainn.com/ J and Lisa are great hosts and it's right next to all of the action on the Esperanza malecon. The view that you see at 3:47 is at El Blok Hotel. Even though we weren't staying there, they were nice enough to let us enjoy the view from their rooftop balcony. +kult0007 Thats cool, I've heard of El Blok, too. Thanks for the info! We are staying in a really nice Airbnb rental on the other side of the island, not far from where the ferry comes in. we are really excited and your videos only increase our excitement. :-)

This is nice - you have some good clips here (just a wee bit long on those sea turtles - but I understand 😄). When did you go? I was surprised to see that warning about Playa Chiva. We have some time in July and we are going to the island - Chiva is (was) on our list of beaches to visit.

Thanks for enjoying and commenting! I cut A LOT of sea turtle footage, but it was one of the creatures we were there to see, and we were excited to share our experiences with friends and family back home.
