This is our first introduction to Hungarian hot springs. I didn’t know there was such a thing. Hope Natalia felt better soon after!

In the 1930s, major companies were searching for oil in Hungary. They didn't find much oil, but at a depth of 400 meters, no matter where you drill, thermal water always gushes out. The temperature is usually between 40-60°C. Because of this, many villages have their own thermal baths. There is approximately one every 15-20 kilometers. Until the 1990s, thermal water was also used for heating greenhouses, but for example, the hot water in Szeged and the heating of certain parts of the city are provided by thermal water.

If I understood correctly, you paid in cash. Bank cards are generally accepted in Hungary. The change will obviously depend on the bank exchange rate, but I don't know about fraud. There are many thermal baths in the area, but all of them receive their water from drilled wells. In other words, none of them are of natural origin.
